I'm currently finishing up my prerequisites and just started my NursingCAS Application for George Washington ABSN for Spring 2015. I found out today (4/17/2015) GW temporarily made their Spring 2016 application unavailable due to errors. They will be releasing it again starting 4/24/15. Until then, I'll be completing the generic information on NursingCAS (personal info, transcript entry, etc)
I just wanted to start a thread to see who else is applying to GW ABSN Spring 2016 and get through this journey together!
I am coming from GA. My husband and I are military (I'm reserve, he's active) and he's getting stationed up there in January. If I get accepted I'll move up early to get settled before school starts. I'm a little worried though, because my science GPA is garbage. The rest of my GPAs and my overall GPA are significantly better, but I really hope they take my personal statement into consideration. Taking two bio classes over a summer semester with a full-time job was not the greatest idea.

Creavis, I applied really early, in May. So I did not hear back that my application was referred to the admissions committee until July 16. From there, it says it takes 3-6 weeks to hear a decision. I got my decision on August 14.
Hi guys! I'm a student in Texas. I applied to 2 schools here, but my parents are military and live in VA, so I just heard about this program and decided to apply ...this week. I would really like to stay here in TX, but I won't hear back from the schools for another two months or so. So I thought why not increase my chances of getting into nursing school! I'll be happy wherever I go. Do you all think the GWU spring class is already full since it's rolling admissions?
@eva94 I don't think you are too late to apply for the spring 2016 cohort. Though there are students being admitted as we speak, some of them will decline the offer. So I think spots are being filled and opened all the time. Best of luck!
Does anyone know where people usually live when attending the GWU absn program? I was just accepted and am not from the area so would like to know more about where to live! Also, is there any way to get in touch with other students that will be in the same cohort to connect and possibly live together?
Also, does anyone know where to take ethics online?
@gcd5920 You might want to check out community college for online ethics classes, that's where I got mine. Just make sure the class has enough credits to fulfill the prerequisites, some has 1 credit, some has 2 credits, so watch out for that.
As far as living situation, I am trying to figure it out myself. I am not from the area so really don't know which apartment to pick, but from what I have researched online, majority of them are quite expensive, so I am looking for an apartment to share with as well. If anyone of you don't mind living with a guy, please let me know. I am quite and easy to get along with, I promise.
