George Washington Hospital New Grads...?

Published

GWU has no info on their new grad program on their page (I'm not even sure if they have one). I tried contacting the nurse recruitment, but haven't heard anything back. Does anyone have any info on them, or an alternate contact? Thanks.

They had me to sign papers to release records from my college. The only thing they asked for was a copy of my license and cpr card.

Does anyone know if they offer relocation expenses?

Also, did you submit your letters and transcript on your own or did they contact you and ask you to send them?

Sorry I forgot part of your question. They offer relocation expenses on a case by case basis. Once you are chosen, they will go further into that. That's what I was told on Friday.

It seems like most of the hospitals around here have a 2 year contract..I wonder if that is just for new grads because of our training costs?

What other hospital require you to sign a 2 yr contract in this area?

For anyone that interviewed at GWUH, how long did it take you to hear back from them as to whether you were selected or not? Im having mixed feelings about my interview. :banghead:

For trimeduLPN, I realize this is a month after you posted, but it took me a month after my interview to hear back that I got the job (for the general medicine floor). I had to call Yemi Lawal twice and then email her till she got back to me.

Oh ok. I took a few weeks for them to get back with me. I was offered the position on the General Med floor. But since then, I have gotten another position and am not sure if I will take the position at GWUH. It was an opportunity I would be crazy if I turned down. But if Im sure I would want to keep the position, I will decline the other. Is your start date 8-17 as well?

Wow that's tough. Where and what unit is your other offer for?

just wondering here...are you nursing students from DC? just curious as to the type of person being hired by GWUH.... I didn't have any luck getting in there. thanks.

Specializes in ICU.

I had an employee personally hand in my resume, but was too late in the process and didn't get an interview. They had 800 applicants for 20 spots!

Yes, I am from DC. I didn't know that was one of their criteria for employment.
