George Washington Hospital New Grads...?

GWU has no info on their new grad program on their page (I'm not even sure if they have one). I tried contacting the nurse recruitment, but haven't heard anything back. Does anyone have any info on them, or an alternate contact? Thanks.

How is the onsite interview at GWUH? I have done 2phone interviews with them and I am asked to come for onsite interview. This is for Med-surge/general medicine

Any hint will be appreciated. Thanks

From the looks of things, it looks like it is too late to apply for the new grad program here. I am from Massachusetts and have been a new grad since MAY 2009 working as a clinical assistant/CNA for almost 2 years and I still have no job offer. I hate the thought of relocating, but its something that I need to start thinking about. Any chance I still have a shot here?

hi,

i recently went on interview at gwu for med/surg oncology unit. i interviewed with 2 nurse leaders from the unit... toured the unit... got to meet with unit manager for a quick minute.... then interviewed with nurse educator. this particular internship is 8 weeks comprises 1/3 class time 2/3 clinical time. there are a variety of exams to be taken during the internship. all but 1 are pass/fail, the final exam must be passed at 80%. like someone stated previously not passing exams are grounds for termination. if an offer is made and accepted there is a 24 mo. commitment. everyone i have had contact with was very helpful and informative, from hr to unit employees. i would highly recommend gwu. this internship by far seems to be more intense and organized than others i know of. however with any place it is what you make out of it. i am so excited about this opp. i hope to be accepted! feel free to ask questions i will try my best to remember.

Thanks for your response. I went for the onsite interview last week too,It was for the med- surg/general surgery. I interviewed with the floor manager and the educator, toured the unit . Everybody I met was very friendly and informative. I believed it is going to be a very intense and interesting programm and I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really wish they offer me the job too.

I wish you luck too. Please let me know how it goes because they told me they will start giving offer by 14th of june or earlier.

Has any one gotten an internship offer for general med or general surgical internship for GWUH? I was told they will start giving offers from 14th of june but I have not heard anything from them either good or bad news.

Pls can you share your experience if you went for onsite interview for this year's Aug. internship position.
