Hi everyone,
I just submitted a Fall 2017 application for the ABSN program at George Washington University. I thought I'd start a thread so we can share some experiences, pieces of advice, and whatnot.
Hi everyone!
i got my email that preliminary review of my application was complete on February 10. Can anyone give me insight on approximately how long it took for it to go to the admissions committee for final review and subsequently how long until you received your final decision?
I'm anxiously awaiting to hear back! Congrats to everyone who has already gotten in! And fingers crossed and good luck to everyone in the same boat as me! Where else did everyone apply? I also applied to George Mason University, which is where I'm currently finishing up some prerequisites and Marymount University as I'm in the Alexandria, VA area.
and yes, orientation is a week before school starts (which is august 28) so i would guess august 21st!
here is a link for an online information session i did which was really informative from GW. Their next two dates are March 8 and April 12 from 12-1pm. The actual presentation is only about 30 minutes long but they allot time for questions from students. I'd definitely recommend it!

And if you're local and able to go to visit the Ashburn campus in person, here is the link to sign up for in person info sessions upcoming on March 3 and April 7th from 10-12 AM!
Hey everybody! I went ahead and created a group for our cohort. The name is George Washington ABSN Fall 2017. Just request to join and I'll look if you're in the GW Nursing BSN Facebook group!
Hey, I have a weird incoginto fb user name just fyi. Bojart. :/ But I'll request adding it right now. Thank you for taking the initiative!
Ryan I spoke to Britny in Admissions this week and she said expect an answer within two weeks as the early decision group was recently notified.
You asked where others have applied, and I've applied to the MS Clinical Nurse Leader Program at Georgetown as well as the program at Drexel and Rutgers University. I too am finishing up some science prerequisites.
I am fortunate that my undergrad was in DC so I know the area pretty well. Just thinking about housing now.
Good luck. I hope you are accepted.
Ahhhh, I'm going crazy. I want to know so bad! And mine hasn't even been passed along for final review yet. Does anyone know how many applicants they have and how many they are planning on accepting?
Hi Liz. I heard there were over 400 applicants and I believe there are 110 seats in total. Good luck

Thank you for the tip about the housing excel sheet! Regarding new student orientation---it's my understanding that it is the week before classes start but I'm not 100% sure. I'm willing to try and make a Facebook page also so we can start getting to know one another!
