Prayer warriors...I need you!

Hello ALL!

I know that their are some really great prayer warriors on this BB and I am in need!

My husband came home from work this morning and told me that his company is closing Nov. 15th. After 12 years working there it is quite a blow for him. I have never seen him so upset and scared. This is the worst time that this could happen, though no time would be a good time. I am numb at this point.....holidays are coming up and I have 7 months of school left. There was no warning signs...nothing!

Anyway, I humbly ask those of you who believe to please pray for me and my family. I would be so greatful!

Thank you in advance!

Gator

Hi Gator,

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I have been there. Though, luckily it's just my husband and myself, we don't have any kids yet, so when I lost my job last year it was stressful but not as stressful as my co-workers who were the sole providers of their young families.

As much as I hate to say this, please stay optimistic, but be in it for the long haul. With the holidays coming up things tend to slow down at companies and it may take a while to be hired. It took me 6 months to find a job after I was laid off and it isn't even a good one compared to my previous jobs. I work as a receptionist and this place was the only place I was called into for an interview in a total of 6 months.

One thing I and a lot of my co-workers did was find part time jobs so that we could extend the length of our unemployment.

Take care and please feel free to PM me if you ever want to vent.

Gator I will add you to my prayer list. What type of work was he in? Maybe he could hurry and get a resume out before some of his coworkers start flooding the market? Gosh I feel for you........

Hugs,

Absolutely! Hang in there and keep the faith. God IS ALWAYS faithful to those who love Him.

I feel silly complaining about my school problems when other people have much bigger ones. I say the rosary every week at my school one dozen will be for your family...

To all of you,

I am truly humbled by your responses and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Gator

You are added to my prayers list, please keep us posted!!!!

Heavenly Father please in your wisdom and mercy provide for "Gator", her husband and their family as only you can do. Please show them that when a door closes a window is opened and that your ways are so much better than our ways. Please let her husband find a job and an even better job than before. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless.

Gator I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened to your family, but I believe God is faithful. I will pray for you husband getting a great severance package, that will carry you thru until he finds a better position with a great company. I believe in prayer, and believe that you will see the result of that prayer soon. I pray for the peace that passes all understanding for your husband and you right now..

Just wanted to update this thread a bit.....

My husband came home this morning and told me that the company is going to give him "severance pay" totally the amount for 8 weeks work. So that will take me until January 10th......Also, my husband never uses his vacation time so he will be able to cash that out as well...that will take us to February 7th.

In the mean time he can look for another job.

THANK YOU to all of you who are praying for my family, I feel certain that it has helped more than anything else! I have not felt "panic" over this and I believe that it is because of the power of prayer.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and so I trust that this will work out exactly the way that it is supposed to!

Thank you all for lifting me up! God bless you!

Alison

I, too, hope things work out for you, Gator. One upside to it being the holiday season is that alot of retailers hire temporary help. While retail may not be what your husband ultimately wants to do, it may give you a little breathing room. Plus, even holiday workers can take advantage of employee discounts.
