  1. clinical uniforms

If you're tired of wearing white undies, remember this... white shows up MORE under white pants and tops, so you have this panty/bra outline showing through your clothes. Fleshy-tone or pale pink works the best.
  2. Senior practicum/preceptorship

My LPN preceptorship requires only 88 hours with an RN or LPN. I have two more evenings and I'll be done! Graduating on the 12th of December! I feel more like an employee than a student. Everyone there wants me to come work with them and my preceptor...
  3. How is school and how are you?

I have 4 more weeks of LPN school then GRADUATION on 12/12!!! Doing my preceptorship now from 3-11p and loving it! The whole year has been so fun and fairly easy, except for getting up early in the a.m. for clinicals. But I will be glad to have my li...
  4. Frustrated with Maternity Nurses!

I noticed more of an attitude with Nursery nurses than L and D. The nursery nurses acted so possessive with the babies, even though I let them know I have 3 kids of my own, but they were also crappy to the babies. I know babies can't understand what ...
  5. StacyS, I don't care if more expereinced nurses say "walk a mile in my shoes for 20 or 30 years...." Your life is what YOU make it. It's not all rosey but allot of life isn't, whether it's nursing or accounting or ballet dancing. I had many people sa...
  6. yucky white uniforms..

We have a hospital in this area that has gone back to all white uniforms for nurses. They can also wear dark blue pants if they want. Allot of them look sloppy though because not every piece of white clothing they are wearing is really white. So you ...
  7. yucky white uniforms..

Vsummer, the camisole covers the waist also so you don't get this bra-only outline. We have to wear white also but we have a dark blue smock thing that goes over it and snaps on the side...like the checkers wear at the grocery store. It also has poc...
  8. Am I doing this for money???

Nursing wasn't my lifelong dream. In fact I DIDN"T want to be a nurse and found out that the very thing I didn't want to do, I love doing! I always wanted to be an EMT. That didn't happen I went to nursing. I feel the need to help and care for sick p...
  9. grrrr...(venting)

Cakarol, Last year, when the teacher left the room during a test, one student turned around and asked two people the answers to a question. They were dumbfounded by that and just ignored her request. I had finished my test and had left the room, so I...
  10. mom of 4 starting college

Hmmm..this could be tricky. I don't have teens but I do have a 10 year old that is going on 16 like all the time, so i will respond anyway. :) Sounds to me like he may be feeling insecure about your decision. Remember that kids of all ages have fears...

  12. Please Help

One thing I do as well as re-writing my notes is after I have written them, I sit down at my computer and type them in WORD. I don't save them or even worry about spelling. It's the reading of the words over and over that is doing studying for me.

  14. Husband or School?

Glad to hear it! But remember that he may need reminding ona regular basis. There is a fine line between reminding and nagging so be creative. I think you're on to something though. Best of everything to you! Jill
  15. Disecting a cat-why?

In high school biology we dissected rats crawdads, worms, frogs, mussels and fetal pigs. Here I am in LPN school and we don't do any of that. I know LPN knowledge base isn't as deep as RN, but you would think we still could benefit from dissecting so...
