New students...what is your fall schedule like?

Nursing Students General Students

I was just wondering what everyone's fall schedule is like. In order to be accepted into our ADN program you need to have A&P I & II done, math, english and philosophy already done before you even apply. It's interesting to see that some are accepted before even completing those courses. I have also already taken Micro, sociology, psychology, political science and speech so those are out of the way. We have to have those done before we graduate, except for Micro which needs to be done before the 2nd semester!

When we got our acceptance letters, they allowed us to take Pharmacology in the summer. It's brutal but we're making it. Beaming525, Debstr and I are all in the same program...are we lucky to meet here first and then be in the same class? Hi Louisa and Debbie!!!

Anyways, I will only have 8 credits this fall. Not too bad huh? I will have nursing 101 lecture, lab and one day of clinicals. Yahoo!!!!

Let us know what your first semester will be like!

Thanks Stephany! And I'm another one of those "non-traditional" students, as they called us in our Human Growth & Development class...I'm 46!

Hi there everyone!!!

I will be starting my second semester in the fall. I decided to get all of my prereqs and basic classes out of the way first before I apply for the nursing program. I work full time( for bills and the Walmart Addiction) :-) so I am taking all night classes. Luckily I have an amazing boss who give me the hours I want so I can go to school. She actually told me she was proud the other day sniff sniff......... made me cry. I am taking -

Algebra M 6:30-9:30

Speech T 6:30-9:30

A&P 1 Lab W 4:00-5:20

A& P Lecture W 6:30-9:25

I am a little scared , but it feels really good to keep hearing people say how proud they are . I have to say I'm pretty proud myself. HEHE Hidi74 Future RN YEA!!!!!!!!!:D

hidi, all the best to you and what a nice boss!

Hi all. This is my first post and I am "another" non-traditional student. I started college last year at age 38. Of course I had to take pre-algebra classes, but did manage to take my English Comp. class. I made A's in all three classes and this really encouraged me. It hit me this summer how much I enjoyed school in the fall and spring and also I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I "grew" up - a nurse!! I have 2 teenagers who are very encouraging and a husband who isn't so encouraging (can we say "selfish") ANYWAY - I start back at the community college August 19 and my schedule looks like this - Tues/Thurs 8:00AM Principles of Psychology, Tues 5:45 - 10:00PM Chemistry I and Lab, Thurs 5:45 - 7:00PM Chemistry I, Saturday 8:00 - Accounting (to satisfy my boss) and 11:50 - College Algebra. I do work full time, but boss is retired and only comes in to the office for a couple of hours 2-3 times a week - so I have plenty of time to study. I haven't told him about me going into Nursing yet and won't until I'm officially accepted after Pre-Reqs are done.

Good luck to all!

Lisa

lisa, and it is a pleasure to meet you! congratulations on your "a's" and all the best to you!

hi everyone...it has been a rough go this summer. I feel like I haven't even gotten on the internet in so long.

I took Pharmacology this summer to make my load easier this fall. Well I wouldn't suggest it to anyone else. This was too much information in too little time. I wish I could've spent more time processing all the information crammed into my head!

I have exam #4 next Monday and our final is on Wednesday. We only started on June 17th.

Our program is tough...an "A" is 93 or above. I am getting an 89 and I don't think that's too bad. Sure wish I could've gotten that "A" though!

Wish me luck for the next two exams! Just get them over and then we're going to Disneyland! Yea, I need the break!

I'm starting AHS 101 this fall, having just been accepted in the LPN program. Hopefully, A&P will be out of the way by then, as long as I pass this quarter. We'll see!

Sorry meant to say AHS 104. School is getting to me!

"89", that's great! keep up the great work. i am glad i didn't try to take pharmacology and health assessment this summer. my brain couldn't have taken it. this was a great break for me since i know i have 5 semesters of clinical without a break. have fun on your trip and be safe!
