I was just wondering what everyone's fall schedule is like. In order to be accepted into our ADN program you need to have A&P I & II done, math, english and philosophy already done before you even apply. It's interesting to see that some are accepted before even completing those courses. I have also already taken Micro, sociology, psychology, political science and speech so those are out of the way. We have to have those done before we graduate, except for Micro which needs to be done before the 2nd semester!
When we got our acceptance letters, they allowed us to take Pharmacology in the summer. It's brutal but we're making it. Beaming525, Debstr and I are all in the same program...are we lucky to meet here first and then be in the same class? Hi Louisa and Debbie!!!
Anyways, I will only have 8 credits this fall. Not too bad huh? I will have nursing 101 lecture, lab and one day of clinicals. Yahoo!!!!
Let us know what your first semester will be like!
not a new student but here is my entire schedule including this fall.
fall 2000: gen biology, a&p 1, sociology & psychology
spring 2001: a&p 2, speech, comp 1, growth & dev, and med terminology
summer 2001: micro & intro to pharm
fall 2001: nursing 1 (clep'ed comp 2)
spring 2002: nursing 2 & cadaver anatomy
summer 2002: nothing !!!!!!!
fall 2002: nursing 3
spring 2003: nursing 4 (may take cadaver anatomy again, it was great)
then graduation !!!!!!

Hey, all! Yet another non-traditional student chiming in here! I have a BS from a while back in business, have spent a lot of time as a personal trainer/medical exercise specialist and as a massage therapist. I loved those two jobs, mainly because I enjoyed so much helping other people deal with many pain issues I could well relate to. It's fun when you can give people a way to learn to help themselves, but since my mother's battle and subsequent death from cancer, I've felt the need to do more -- I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, since I already had a degree, most of my requirements for the ADN program I'm starting transferred, and I'm just finishing up my science classes (final micro exams this Wednesday). I start my 2-year evening/weekend program at the end of the month; we'll have lecture and seminar on Mon/Wed from 6-9:30, then every other weekend from 7-4 is either skills lab or clinical. I'm excited to get going and hope my full-time job (office for now) will last me through most of my schooling, as being single I can't do without the income. Thank heavens I was fortunate enough to receive a nursing scholarship through my school, or it would be a tight squeeze for sure. But there is always, always a way to get through, and nothing is gonna stop me!
Good luck to all you new students! I hope to meet some of you as the school year progresses!

Hi. I am (yet) another nontraditional student, 46, and am starting clinicals in two weeks. I have all my academic classes out of the way, so will just have the nursing courses -- I think 8 credit hours total this semester.
I have been going to school for three years part-time (I work full time) and now that the moment is here for the nursing classes to actually start, I confess I am a bit apprehensive.
I am so glad to have found this group!
