hello, everyone. have any of your classmates left the program you are in yet. we have had a few to quit.

Specializes in med/surg & geriatrics.

In anatomy/physiology alone we have already lost 7 since Aug.

We still have our original 18 (the day class has 70 students) we haven't lost anyone yet but "K" keeps saying "I really don't like this..." and I don't think she'll be back next sesmster...

My class is an evening/ weekend and we range in age from 25-52 ;)

nurs2b, that sounds stressful. Good luck on your important exam!

Specializes in MS Home Health.

When I was in the ADN program we lost 50%of our class. Went from 500 to 250. Was sad as alot of those people I was friends with....

We have just finished Psych (the first half of our fourth semester) and we lost one student. We are down to 35 out of about 70.

I'm in a really small class and it's getting smaller. Some ppl are doing fine in check-offs/clinical but failing in class in the "book" part.

I honestly think that the knowing the book part is essential to passing the NCLEX.

 When I was in LPN school, we started with 75, at pinning we had 20! Lost them for various reasons, mostly grades though. We had a lot of younger people who may not have been ready yet.

We just lost two more after the last exam. I expect we may lose a few more on the math test too.

We have lost quite a few, but it's hard to say because there are different sections of each class. They also let in people that failed before, so we usually start with 40 each semester.

It's hard to see friends fail, but I am at the point that I can't worry about it too much. I have WAY too much of my own worrying to do!!!

We started out with 64 and we are down to 54 as of last week.

The saddest thing happened though. One guy was going back to school after the military and a career and was doing great. Two weeks ago during clinicals in our ltc facility, he had a heart attack. Our instructors were ready to start CPR. He was taken away by ambulance and stayed in the hospital for almost a week. Poor thing....he had to quite because of his health.

and i just talked with one of my study partners and she is dropping. she plans to start back up next sept. i feel like there will be quite a few who drop this week. our class started at 125 and not enough seats in the lecture auditorium for all of us. some people who sitting on the floor. we are now down to approximately 115, with still not enough seats. i feel that after drop date, everyone will have a seat and possible a few empties.

i hope everyone's semester is going good. thanksgiving break is right upon us and then winter break will be here before you know it. good luck to everyone and keep a positive attitude.
