Do nursing school students actually rest.....

During the breaks? With Christmas break coming up, what do you do? How do you keep the information fresh in your mind gearing up for the next semester? This kinda goes along with my other post about calculations, but I am scared to totally rest....I am afraid I will enjoy it too much..... I plan on getting a book about how to prepare for the 1st semester or something....I will read, enjoy my family, and get my house in order since I will be too busy for a good 4 months.

Yes we do rest, or at least I do. You really need to so that you recharge the batteries for next semester. It takes a lot out of you so rest is good so that you have the energy to deal with the next semester. I am taking a one week intensive class so I will looose a week of rest, but that is ok... No care plans for 5 weeks works for me! Good luck.

Maybe some rest, but I'll also be doing an internship and working, maybe even see my family!

I'll be resting, but start a new job on Monday after finals, then have 4-6 weeks of preceptorship before semester....I plan on relaxing, not even thinking about school until after xmas, then slowly rereading first semester outlines, and remembering concepts I had trouble with....

REST! The important concepts keep getting covered and you'll remember what you need. In fact, skip the housework--it's just gonna get messy again anyway:rolleyes:

I'm so looking forward to no school. I'm down to one final next week and I'm having a hard time wanting to study. The not wanting to study part isn't necessarily new. . .

I'm on accelerated BSN, so this is my only break untill December of the next year. I love to workout so I'm using my break to get back in shape, since I couldn't workout during the school time. I will watch TV, kick back, go shopping, catch up with my friends and family. I'm planning on getting my textbooks ASAP as the bookstore gets them and will start reading before school starts. This way I will have to do less work when the school starts again and would be able to keep up with my workouts.

as far as resting from schoolwork, i guess i do. we have to do a portfolio our last semester, so i spend a lot of my breaks working on that...especially since it's due next semester. i work a lot...but i don't like to sit still...i have to be doing something all the time. or sleep. sleep is good. but then i'm a pain in the ass all day! :angryfire

rest. rest and margaritas. I am dragging clawing slowly inching towards end of semester dragging my butt and skidding on my face. at this point I could care less about next semester. :) the info will still be there, its kinda like if you dont rest, you will crash sooner the next go around. I wanna watch "ellen" in my jammies and not think of anything medical.. 4 weeks of bliss!

I always used my breaks for just that.....break. That meant no studying, no reading, no math problems, no review, nothing! I always had a great time, but once you get a taste of "freedom" it's VERY hard to get back in school-mode. I would struggle for the first few weeks of the semester just trying to get back into it, but oh well. You really do need a break from nursing school, so enjoy it!

I will be resting, I have a gift certificate for a massage that I plan on using!

But actually I will be working on this year long research project, studying for the GREs and working. So not so much resting totally, but is a whole new thing not having to worry about clinicals and tests...that in itself is a fabulous vacation.

Oh I rest alright.....in the beginning I spent every break studying...now I rest.....time goes by so fast as it is...I am GETTING my rest in when I can
