Atheist Professers

Nursing Students General Students

Published

 Hi everyone! I'm kind of new here, and I have a question: Right now I'm in A&P and my professor is an all out atheist. I realized when I decided to go the nursing route I would encounter many scientific minds, but whew! How do you fellow believers keep this from getting to you? Just a little friendly conversation starter, not trying to start a creation vs evolution debate. Hope to hear from yall!

Hehehe. I've NEVER had anyone try to talk me out of my religious beliefs... Probably because i keep them to myself except in certain situations (such as this thread, personal discussions with close friends, etc.). Funny which people seem to think everyone is out to get them.

non-belivers are pushy

I just love a good generalization now and then.

Geez, thanks for pointing that one out, Heather. I, too, enjoy a good generalization, in general, that is.

Ok,

Did frigging anybody that saw the posts about evolution/creation concurrence theory care to comment now that the "Jesus Freaks" are knawing on the last nerve of the "Niechtski(God is dead) people".............ok, so I have no idea how to spell that dude's name.

I was all geared up for a good debate about scientific issues.

BTW.......nobody signed me up for Media:sniff:

God......Jesus.....The Holy Spirit.......are NOT the image of man...

Since everything else has already been said (thanks AmberNoel and sbic!!!) I just felt the need to comment on this because it struck me...not trying to cause an argument, but to use this in debate with an atheist is kind of useless because that statement requires belief in "God.....Jesus......The Holy Spirit" But this statement struck me, because it is sort of at the root of (at least my) atheist beliefs...for lack of a better explanation, a quote: "It was fear that first made gods in the world." Can't remember who said this, but it sums the whole thing up quite nicely for me.

Indeed.

If you are happy and content with your beliefs, indeed, then I am happy for you that you are happy and content with your beliefs.

Those who do believe in God are the ones who would understand my comments. I really didn't expect the nonbelievers to relate to it.......didn't really ask you all to........and do not wish to curse those who do not believe in God because I am not the judge of mankind......GOD is! :)

Uhhhhhhh....PEEPS......shouldn't you be studying for your Psychology exams or something??? :chuckle Media would just cloud your brain to the point of creating "delusions of grandeur" in your mind...I don't think your Professors at school could handle you in that case. :lol2: :kiss

Yes, Brian......it is quite UNFORTUNATE that many people are paranoid about OTHERS being out to GET THEM. SPOOKY, huh??? :D

People have tried without success to talk me out of what I believe. I prefer to leave them to their beliefs, and they leave me to mine. IF.....and only IF they ASK for me to share my faith with them, or WHY I believe as I do, I will share at that time and that time only!!!

On this thread.......I feel as if I can share what I think just like anyone else......so don't really consider my "rule of thumb" (being asked to share or NOT)......applies here....just in my personal one on one or group settings from day to day. :kiss

I just find this constant use of the words "believer" and "nonbeliever" comical. Hell, I'm a believer. Maybe not in what you believe. In my head, I am the believer, and the rest of you are nonbelievers. I even looked up "believer" in the dictionary, and it says nothing about God.

Let's face it, no matter what our beliefs are, we all feel at times that other's views are being forced upon us. How offended would some of you be if I make a blanket generalization and said that your religion was full of confused pushy people?

Why can't we all respect each other's beliefs for what they are, close the friggin thread, and have a margarita?

Heather

Mmm margarita. Maybe the tequila people will drop some margarita mix on my porch. "Good news from Jose Cuervo!"

Love you all, even the confused and pushy...

Dearest beauty...in answer to your first sentence above:

I already agree that manmade religions are OVERLY POPULATED with a bunch of 'CONFUSED PUSHY PEOPLE'. :chuckle

That said.......here's your first Martini......consider it on the house! ;) :kiss

NOW....moderators.......CLOSE THE FRIGGIN' THREAD! :lol2:
