Seems like all I have been seeing for post lately are people saying how bad they are doing.... Anyone doing well and want to share hahaha so many negative Nancy's out there!

I love nursing school, am doing great and can hardly wait to keep learning!

Final semester, just 39 days til pinning and I just received my official letter stating I am graduating with honors. :) good grades are possible!

I'm doing well. A's are definitely possible. This semester, so far, I have an A- average (93), with two more exams to go...an A is not completely out of reach yet :)

Hard to stress about needing that few points for my A at school when so many people are trying so hard just to pass.

As a nurse of 30 years I am disheartened by this thread. You are all thrilled that you are making As and Bs but I haven't read one word about your patient care or your clinical skills. Book smarts do not always translate to being a good nurse.

I feel like you're reading too much into our posts. Just because we did not mention our clinical experiences does not mean we aren't doing well in those either. I think one would have to be very naive to think that being a good nurse always means having book smarts. Since grades are (unfortunately) used to demonstrate how well we are doing, I think it is appropriate for us to respond to the topic with the grades we are making.

B's! And excited about it. Before ours test on Thursday, we had 13 people failing. I've worked hard for my B and I'm proud of it!

I haven't been to clinicals yet and skills checks are part of my grades at my school.

I don't think that's what the thread is really about.

The "book smarts" tends to be the most difficult aspect of nursing school. I know that there are a few people that chose nursing and find the scholarly aspect much easier than the hands-on, caring part, but most folks that pursue nursing are already caring, "people persons", so the patient care and clinical skills aren't where the average student struggles.

Well firstly one of my A's is in my clinical experience and secondly being not book smart doesn't translate into a good nurse either. If people can't master the theory of nursing or the basics of pathophysiology or pharmacology I would be concerned for their ability to provide patient care.

It's pretty well known that so many students fail exams. You really can't enjoy getting that A or B when your classmates are dropping like flies. So we are just enjoying that moment here. There are clinical threads where we can post on great clinical experiences.

My clinicals are pass/fail, so I'm either doing well enough or I am no longer a nursing student.

So far, so good! 2 more tests left. Hoping to maintain the A. 4 more weeks to go!!!

It sure has been stressful, but at the same time, I'm really loving it and I'm enjoying clinicals :)

Looking forward to the semester break!!!

I am doing really good and I feel like I am never able to say that. All of my friends in my program are failing or very close to it and it is sometimes hard for me to chat with them while they are freaking out about failing a test when I just made an A on the same test. Woohoo for doing awesome and being proud of it![/quote']

You shouldn't have to down play your success because of someone's failure.

No one said it did. They are just respinding to the question that was presented. Besides who wants to be cared for by a nurse who barely passed.. idc how nice she is if she don't know whT she is doing. ..
