Will the nursing shortage ever end?

Nurses General Nursing

Hello I am taking courses at my college and I am very interested in nursing as a career. I did some research and bls.gov estimates a 22% increase for the demand of nurses through 2018. My question is after 2018 will there no longer be a demand for nurses? Thanks

Nursing shortage?...

My question is, when is it going to begin?

Right now the economy has affected nursing also......there are many unemployed nurses out there......search this site. The government as ilike many important things.....has absolutely NO clue to the plight of the voting public....the little guy. HOwever, I do believe that this will change...I just don't know when....If you REALLY want to be a nurse then persue it, If you think it's a recession proof job.....seek another degree.

I suppose there are some areas with nursing shortage, but it's definitely not where I live.

I have to agree... it never started.

There isn't a demand now, wasn't one yesterday or really for 2, almost 3 years - actually never really a "demand". It's just hype to get you to drop some big cash at a college near you. There have been trends where nursing was a job that was pretty easy to come by in decades past. Those times are gone now.

Yes, the nursing shortage will end around 2007.

In 2018 all nurses will be replaced with robots.

They've already started treating nurses like robots, so it was only a matter of time.....

I have to agree... it never started.
