Anything by Echo Heron! She's written 3 non fiction books- two about her own experiences and one is a compilation of stories by different nurses. She's also written some fiction, but the true stuff is better.
Also, "Nurses: The Human Touch" by Michael Brown, R.N. is great (another compilation of different nurses)
Life Support: Three Nurses on the Front Lines by Suzanne Gordon. She is not a nurse herself, but is a great friend to nurses.
We Band of Angels: The Untold Story of American Nurses Trapped on Bataan by the Japanese, by Elizabeth M. Norman, PhD, RN. Absolutely breathtaking story of these brave women. Both books should make you proud.

Not a "Nursing Book" but a book that I found very inspirational was Tuesdays with Morry (don't know about the spelling of Morry). I could not put this book down, finished it in one 3-4 hour sitting. You will not regret experiencing the outlook that this man has on life, it definitely helped me open my eyes to what is truly important in life.

I enjoy reading books written by nurses about the profession. The stories they tell give a glimpse of what it's really like to be on the front line.
Currently, I am just taking my pre-reqs so I have a little time during the day to pick up a good non-textbook. What was your favorite nursing book of stories?
