Would you use card, dice, or board games to learn medical based information? For example, lab values, ACLS protocol, radiology reads? If so, what kind of topics would be most valuable to you and what type of game format best appeals to you? I really appreciate your feedback!

Peace, Love and a better fast food hamburger

Hmmm... if you have Cook-Out restaurant in Pitt, I hear their burgers are good.

I also enjoy a good burger from Hardee's/Carl's Jr.

You just can't quite beat a couple of basic cheeseburgers from McD's though.

Working at Wrongway Regional Medical Center is a board game:

This makes me think a Monopoly-style board game might be useful to teach students what their nursing careers might entail rather than any actual nursing knowledge. Land on various squares: "Half-hour to shift change; your patient just coded." "Your non-nurse friends are planning a group vacation. Roll the dice to see if you can get vacation approved." "Several colleagues with seniority just retired. You anticipate finally having Christmas off. Roll the dice to see if any of the orientees will be off orientation by then." "You have a patient with a PIA family. Roll to see if they give you a break by firing you."

Could be fun! Or not.

I'm presuming the OP is working with adult learners. Frankly, I think the "game" approach is sort of juvenile and would be somewhat insulted if a nurse educator used that approach. But that's just me.

A pay rise, a decent lunch break and independent pt.

I love cards, dice, and board games. I just saw this the other day! Looks fun!

I want a presentation/learning experience that is straight to the point and as quick as it can be. Most of the times these games take up more time than just presenting the info, and I can guarantee most people in that room would rather take the time saved to leave early.

What do I want as nurse? I do private duty and enjoy my job, but man I wish my agency paid us more money and actually offered benefits that were affordable. With what they pay us, most people are unable to afford them. PTO would be nice too. The people that work in the office get 8 days PTO, yet the nurses out in the field get nothing.
