What can I do besides nursing?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I lost my nursing license in 2015 due to school claiming I did not graduate. I had worked for 8 years as a nurse and loved it. And yes I posted things before. I would just like to know if everthing else fails what would be a good medical profession? I pray I will get license back but is has been 3 years. Please no negative commment I have been through heck. My story was on the news 4 so I am not making this up.

I'm confused. Didn't your school have to verify education before you sat for the NCLEX?

Sorry you have to experience this. But as someone else said, is there a way to retake the Biology 101, or present-day equivalent course, so you can get an official ADN and go from there?

I am assuming this is someone faking or a troll.

If its not, then its been two years, according to news reports. Why didnt you just retake the failed class and move on?

From what I've read, it's been seven years. The failed biology class is strange, though.

That puzzled me also. The article states "According to Tri-County Tech officials, this kind of situation is nothing new. Due to fast-paced demands of the nursing industry, students are now required to complete the graduation requirements in order to obtain a degree." All college students regardless of the major must meet graduation requirements before obtaining their degree. It is the school's responsibility to make sure the student has met the requirements before THEY issue the degree. How can they approve a student to take NCLEX if they haven't met the requirements for a degree?

I would get a lawyer and sue the school. My diploma states "XXX University has conferred upon {ME} the degree of Bachelor of Science with all the rights and privileges appertaining thereunto. In Witness Thereof, this diploma duly signed has been issued and the seal of the University hereunto affixed..." In my opinion, that is a legal document signed by the president of the university an the president of the Board of Trustees stating that I have met the requirements of the degree.

My school verified my completion of the nursing program and I was allowed to sit for boards and be licensed. I even found a job and started working. Less than a year later, I needed my diploma and couldn't find it, so I went to the school to request a copy. They informed me that I'd never actually graduated.

They had me in the system, and my part had been completed, but it was never processed for some unknown reason. It was pushed through at that time and I did eventually graduate ...well after I started working as a nurse, though. My resume is very odd-looking when it comes to dates.

I never knew anything was wrong until I showed up requesting a "copy" that I assumed somehow got lost in the mail.

Nursing director signed letter of endorsement

A troll really? I hope nothing bad ever happens to you. I was a nurse for seven years. This did happen 2 years ago and I am still trying to resolve issue. I took biology and failed was not a requirement when I graduated. I hope no one would ever fake this happening. I hope this happened for a reason. I know God is in control.

According to the media she was a nurse for seven years. But only found out in 2015 that she wasnt going to get her license renewed.

So why didnt you retake the class?

We are all very curious.

They made a mistake but corrected it. However, they're saying she should have never done anything because of Bio 101. That's like a core class and pre-req before certain nursing classes. I'm at a loss as to how that even happened. There's failure on several levels, not a clerical error on the school's part.

And wait, you graduated but never received a diploma and didn't notice for months or did you not care as long as you took the NCLEX it didn't matter (LOL)?

Nursing director signed letter of endorsement

What did they say you needed to do in order to be able to practice again? It's not like you intentionally were dishonest, so what was the suggestion? And how many other people are in the same situation as you and don't yet know it? Are they going to re-evaluate every nurse that director endorsed? Do you have an attorney? There's so many questions.

I never bothered to pick up my diploma when I graduated. I didn't go to the graduation ceremony. I passed the NCLEX. I assume I have graduated...now I'm thinking I should see if I can get my diploma!
