UK nurse waiting for 10 years for USA

Nurses General Nursing

Published

HI,

Nurse here from the UK been a member since 2001. I am back! looking for someone on similar situations as mine. Passed NCLEX 2008, IELTS and applied for visa screen, however, retrogression happened then. So, I was stuck here in the UK, hoping one-day opportunities will happen again. Luckily, late last year, USA open their doors for nurses. A friend of my recommended me to OGP and signed a contract with them, took ielts once again and passed. So, my long lost dream has been lifted. I am again anxious and obviously asking myself "Am I doing the right decision here?" "Will life better in America?". Looking for answers and someone to motivate and enlighten please. Thank you.

michaRN,you are right to try.At the end of the day we regret the things we don't do rather than the things we do.Like the others have said, if it doesn't work out for you once you get to the US then you can always go back to the UK and cross working in the US of your Bucket List.I have found that ICU nurses are very flexible so I'm sure you'll do great.Good Luck

Thank you for the encouraging message.

Once approved then it is a case of waiting for a visa to be available and then things move forward and within a few months you will get an appointment at the local US embassy. If born in the Philippines then current waiting times are 2 years once PD is approved. This date will move up and down but you can keep an eye on it by searching for US visa bulletin and checking out category EB3

as well always Thank you for your reply @silverdragon102
