Sick of managment but need 9 to 5

I was some how moved into management, which I admit, I have learned a ton and even received my MSN. I enrolled into FNP school, but the stress overwhelmed me. I find myself really disliking my management job. The politics, the meetings, the HR... I just want to take care of patients, and treat them with all of my love and kindness. Problem is, I have two little ones and there is no way I could go back to the floor and do 12s. Are there any 9 to 5 patient care jobs out there? I have been searching for months!

I don't know if you have this available in your area, but I work 7-3 (flexible though, I could work 8-4...9-5..) at a small group home working with residents of disability (intellectual and physical). It is great, I love it, my schedule is M-F but I did get lucky, the other nurse that works at this house has to work one weekend day, and we have a gentleman who is part time that works the other weekend day. Other houses in our company are 12 or 24 hour nursing, therefore they do have to do 12s, but my house in particular is 8 hour nursing. I doubt there are a ton of these out there, but you may stumble upon or or two if you kind of look into it. Again I don't know if where you are located they even h ave these services, or houses, but just an idea.

Outpatient, partial hospitalization programs, same-day surgery/procedure, clinics, medical practices...

Also, look for facilities that offer 8s. There's some that still do.

LTC positions like Wound Care Nurse, MDS, etc. Home Health or Hospice per visit. Liasion/marketing for skilled nursing/home health/hospitals/supply companies.

In my area, outpt ambulatory jobs are 7-3 or 8-4. Several of my friends have left the hospital for those jobs. It seems like a good deal as they are not open on holidays or weekends.

some of our OR jobs are 7-3 ish. pacu also does weird shifts
