I think all doctors should have to be patients for a week or so and have all the horrible tests done to them and then wait a week for the results (which are actually available 2 minutes after the test is done). They should be intubated, vented, foley, rectal tube, central lined by a rookie with the ensuing pneumo and chest tube. Then you'd see docs treating patients better. Sad thing is I can easily rattle off names of nurse colleagues who should go thru this too.
Never heard of Wit. Is it available to rent?

yes, it's available to rent. Wit is about a very ascerbic English Lit professor going through experimental cancer rx. It's VERY good. It does a great job contrasting the goals of the MD's and RN's.

Another was "Snake Pit", psych has sure come a long way.
Can't think of that WW II movie where there were all these dedicated nurses on an island in the Pacific. It used to play on the late late show a lot. Especially around 7 Dec.
I really love "One flew over the cuckoo's nest", have watched it many times. Used to bring it in every time we got a new nurse so they could watch it.
Good luck on your paper....

Did you ever think about Trauma Life in the ER, Code Blue, or Maternity Ward from TLC? Alot of times they follow the Docs and residents, but they will follow one or two nurses. They are real life and up to date as far time line stuff.
