  5. I had a patient who was a young man (ealry twenties) who had been in a knife fight which resulted in surgery and several nicely stapled lacerations on various parts of his upper body. This guy was very high maintenance from the start and he complaine...

    I agree. A BSN certainly does not mean you are a better or worse nurse. It is simply a different level of education that may be applicable to certain areas of the nursing field. I know that in my "health region" if you want to be a public health nurs...
  8. I have no idea about the acutal legalities of the situation, but It would make sense to me that if your patient was deemed competent, then anything he/she does outside the hospital is of their own accord and they are accountable, or anyone they assoc...

    Not much freaks me out, but I did get quite squeemish when watching an orthopedic surgeon drill someone's bone marrow out of their femur during a hip replacement surgery. O U C H ! ! !
  12. What do you think the public thinks your job is as a "nurse"?? I am still only a student currently getting my BSN, but I have had people tell me I don't need to go to school anymore because it's no that hard to change bedpans or give out medications....
