I am curious. How many nurses are the full time primary household earner? In other words, if you quit your job for a lessor paying job, would your currnet housing/health insurance/food on the table situation fold?

i'm the primary breadwinner in the house...because my mother just decided to stop working to go to nursing school fulltime, then shortly after my dad got laid off from work...I am sending my sisters to college abroad and pay for their tuition and allowance, I also give my younger brother, who is in high school, his allowance, I pay the house rent and bills...so yes if i lose employment tomorrow, we will not just starve, we will be in so much trouble...

i know what you mean. i am sending my dad monthly allowance. he's back home in the philippines sitting pretty.
i am also sending money to my cousin there who i am helping with her bsn education. i pay 70% of our bills here, mortgage, car, etc...so if i lose my job, so many people would be affected.
i am not complaining though because i like helping my family, overseas and here.

My husband make about the same as I do. I have a way better insurance plan however.
We definitely need both incomes to live comfortably.

My spouse is the breadwinner. No way we could ever live on a nurses salary. I earn the mad money for incidentals and vacations, etc.

It's me and my golden retriever, so yes, I am the breadwinner.

Isabella is usually in charge as she is used to getting her way. She does wear a gentle leader so I can "control" her while on our walks. It works great, except people often mistake it for a muzzle and are afraid of her. She likes to "ride" me by sitting on my lap when she gets the chance. She thinks she is so petite. I'm thankful for my big baby. She is able to easily hold her bladder the 12 hours I am away at work.
