McDonald"S Anyone?

Just wondering about what everybody thinks about the latest "Joe Blow" suing Mickey D's for him being fat. I am sorta of the mind set that no one taped him to the bed and stuffed Big Mac's in his mouth.

I think American's need to take some responsibility and accept that if you are fat it is either a physiological disease process or just your own doing, not Ronald McDonald's! I have little trouble finding the similarities between this and the cancer/cigarettes thing.

Just wondering what anyone else thought.

I wonder if I could have a case against macdonalds?? I used to work there part time, and we weren't allowed to bring our own food onto the premise, we were 'given' meals, upto a large UK meal, which is the same size as a US regular meal.

It was amazing how much weight I lost!! All I ever 'ate' was diet coke, I got sick of eating the same rubbish, especailly as I had seen how some of the morons cooked it. Plus when you have to clean the kitchen and the freezer it kinds of puts you off eating it.

But then of course I quit, and I started eating fast food again, I think I should sue them for not being more flexiable so that I could have rotated my McD shifts with my nursing school shifts???

I still can't drink the milkshakes though....

While I certainly don't disagree with this, wouldn't it be helpful to have actual, real-world sex education taught in schools, complete with BC options, rather than NO sex ed, or classes where abstinence is the only BC method taught?

Could go a long way towards educating some of these teenage girls who honestly think they can't get preganant the first time, or whatever other misinformation they pass around amongst themselves.

I totally and fully support this idea, and have, in fact, considered teaching sex ed myself. One major problem I have with the conservative party is the whole 'teach abstinence' movement. Give me a small frickin' break. Like that will ever work. Let's teach them how to drive, but not how to use the brake pedal or seatbelt, then....

Also, it needs to be taught when kids are 8 or 9 years old. NOT THE SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. My sex ed class was senior year. I was the only virgin in class, and there were 2 pregnant girls in there.

UH-HUH. I had a friend ask me our senior year if she should use two condoms since one isn't perfect. She laughed when I told her to keep her pants on and she would be just fine, but I guess she wanted to be a mother before she was a legal adult.

My sex ed was very short and didn't give much info. I think if we taught more about the technical stuff, not just about diseases and pregnancy, the curiousity would be lower and maybe they wouldn't want to jump into it so fast. Let's give a good anatomy lesson and teach what sex is....the same friend asked me what happened after "he puts it in...is that it?"

My sex ed class was taught by Sister Mary Paulissa who had to be 85 at that time. I have no recollection of what we talked about.

All these law suits are making me sick. Maybe I should sue all the smokers in the world for making me breath in second hand smoke. Just kidding smokers! Get over the fact that you are fat and get on a treadmill.

:roll :chuckle :rotfl: :lol2:

hey vegas.....do nuns even know what sex is??? :imbar

Sex ed in our schools is governed by the school boards. The amount and what they teach the kids is limited. They don't even discuss STD's, HIV, or birth control untill high school. The idiots don't realize it's the 5th graders who are being taught about the cycles, are at risk and that they have been having cycles for a couple of years already in some cases. The teaching needs to taught before high school to be effective imo. What was this thread about anyway?? LOL. Oh yeah Mc Donalds. Those jerks fed us till we were fat and we had no clue....yeah right. Gimme a break!

Can I sue Coca~Cola? My Mom says my first word was "Coke" and I've been hooked for years! laugh....

Have a great weekend everyone!

I am shocked that anyone sees the McDonald's "hot coffee" issue as anything but the bunk that it was. If you order something to be "HOT", it should not be placed between your legs in a moving vehicle. I don't care what the temperature of it was. It was "HOT COFFEE", and only a moron would have done what that elderly woman did. It was her responsibility to understand that hot means hot, not lukewarm so it won't hurt you. I side with McDonald's on that one.

Hey, I stubbed my toe on my Lazy Boy. Now, should I have worn shoes or should I sue their A$$'$ off?

I to have taken care of young "moms"...just a few weeks ago a 20 y/o in PTL(preterm labor). FOB was in Italy, had a boyfriend that had come to take her out for an hour(drove an hour to get here) and was out on a pass with yet another guy who we learned later was yet another "boyfriend". Don't know what the heck she was thinking. Oh yeah and she never returned from pass and she was apparently homeless. All I could think about was her wandering around the city having ctxs and leaking all over the place only to give birth to her 27 week baby who doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of making it... with her being the mom. :(

I believe that you can make one mistake...shame on you...another mistake shame on me.....needs a tubal or a hyst!!!

Did you see the Daily Show with John Stewart when he was talking about this?

He said, "That guy suing McDonald's sure has balls. Well, he thinks he does. He hasn't seen them in 15 years!!!"

Thought that was so funny I would share w/ all of you!
