Low Census-Cancelled Shifts-Where Are You Located?

This is sort of a continuation of the thread that spoke about shifts being cancelled. What I would like to know is WHERE you nurses are located (just the state-or say like "midwest", "northeast", etc...).

I tend to believe that it is due to the new medicaid implementation. Or what Commuter mentioned, the lack of people taking elective surgeries due to fear of losing their positions. etc. I'm just curious to know if this is across the entire US.

wow i work in Pittsburgh and were always full.

Southern Wisconsin at both hospitals I work for.

Based on the replies from the respondents of this thread so far, the cancellations are occurring in the Northeast (Maryland, Pittsburgh) and the Midwest (Wisconsin, Missouri).

I am in New York. There are less admissions, but the only people cancelled are the agency nurses. I suspect that there may be less hours for me up in med-surg these days.
