Implanted Chip Approved for Human Use

  1. I just came across an article about this in Nursing 2005, Here is the link to an article on MSNBC. They would be used to store medical data about the person. What do you guys think of this? I find the whole concept surreal and creepy myself...

Well, I guess you can call me a religious nut, but I think it's a sign of the times.
No, I will refuse to let them implant one in me.
I won't have it, and I won't have anything tattooed on me, in way, shape, or form.
This is another way we are losing our privacy.
I just posted a comment in another thread about Social Security numbers. Read it, if you want, on the thread about "Concerned about this and other sites".

Hmmm...how many of you cringed when you read Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" or winced when Orwell displayed his predictions in "Animal Farm"? How many of you said "that'll never happen" when you watched films such as The Terminator and Gattica"?

    Resist this.

I totally agree with you on the sign of the times theory. Three days of darkness too.

I will never let it happen to me.

Personally, I would dearly love to have a chip planted in my son's brain to enable him to do math. And I remember another child he went to school with whose verbal communication attempts were jibberish--what if there were a 'chip' (for lack of a better word) that would enable her to speak? Those things might be actually kind of cool.

Yep! You are 100 percent correct, and I don't give a damn who disagrees with me. One of the first things our "president" signed into law was this bogus "Patriot Law" that will cause no end of grief to this country. Do you realize that banks and credit companies now use this "law" to deny you a checking account if your credit is not stellar? This entire patriot law is designed to control the masses, and harkens back to the days of the priviledged hoarding all the wealth as the "Surfs" were denied all access to anything that could further their families? Yeah you deep seated Bush worshipers, bring it on--- There are many of us who see it, and suffer it daily. BUsh's Loss of privacy in America makes me think we are heading towards as totalitarial government. Don;t beleive me? Look up a previous post online here in which people can pay to get medical staff's name, address and even social security numbers. I'm about to contact a lawyer and see if this invasion of privacy can be stopped-- although under this "Patriot law" needs to be stopped )gives basicaly anyone acess to my social security info and eables insurance companies of all things the right to deny us. What the hell good is confindentaly issues? Sure, patients get it. But what about us care-givers who may have less than stellar credit--- suddenly we are loser bums who's constitual rights are taken away because back 5 years ago we were unable to pay a bill-- no freakin banks will even touch us. Makes me sick. I never voted for the "fortunate son" anyway. But people with business interets and Christian Coalition, dumb assed uninformed people who think the Bush daughters are hot, and without a doubt the big corporations wanted him here. We get what we get when we allow shows like Jerry Springer and programming crap like the nasty, nasty biased Fox New Network (Rupert is soo replubican it's sick) to be our main source of entertainment.
You say you are a "religious nut," and that tells me that the clinton administration disgusted you. Understandable. BUsh's secretivity discusts and scares me. AT least Clinton never scared me. OH wow-- a BJ. Nothing compared to BUsh's greed for oil. And that, my dear is a fact. Bush does NOT hav the best interests of the common working man. You'd have to br blind (nmo attack on you intended, just want you to see how almost 50 percent of Amercians think) I do respect that you tink the BUsh family is the answer to the countries problems- based on his supposed moral record alone. In all honsety, milions and millions disagree-- just never shut your mind. We ain;t all stupid, and I'll bet that if we combine out thougts, we'll see that the very best leader is yet to come But Bush is not it-- he is in bed with big business and oil companies. be optimistic, we'll oust all them soon anf real people will yake over. Anyway, fun to debate with you, and even though we are oppsite sides, we will make a differece. Never let go.

    Dear Caroline,

Nice rant, sister. LOL, you go girl! 'Fraid a lot of what you said is true, except I wouldn't trust the likes of Bill and Hillary either. He was in for it for more than a BJ. Frankly, politicians are all a bunch of power mongering, mass manipulating liars!

No, I am not going to debate with you, but don't assume you know anything about me, just because I said I'm a religious nut.
I am a that because I believe in Jesus Christ, not Bush, Clinton or ANY politician.
I don't get my information from Springer or Fox News.... I get it from a book called the Holy Bible.
So cool off, I'm not the enemy.

I thought she was attacking Bush, not you. Alot of folks dislike the guy, the only reason that he won the election is because Kerry is such a hypocitical fool. Really, it's discouraging.

Well, at first I thought she agreed with me, but later on down in the post it seemed to be kinda personal towards me, I think she thinks I'm a religious nut BECAUSE of Bush......not so.
I was a "Believer" before Bush ever thought about running.
She was kind of ranting and going on kind of senselessly, IMO.
People don't have to be Bush lovers because they are religious.
In fact, I dislike all politicians.
I see what they are doing. I dislike Bush and Clinton equally. Clinton did things I hated and Bush is doing things I hate now.

Another humble opinion of mine.......I did not intend to get a preaching sermon started here.
Politics and religion are 2 subjects likely to get anyone riled up, and man, oh, man, mixing them into the same post is really bad.
In my original post, I only stated a personal belief and opinion that web sites that promote giving out personal information is a "sign of the times" that we live in, and I get that opinion from reading the Bible.
One day, the inhabitants of this earth will have no choice but to let others have the information they want.
In some cases I guess we have no choice now.
I would certainly support any efforts to see if that web site could be stopped.
One web site here, a little information there, another web site with some other kind of info, first thing ya know, they got a whole profile on us.

Believe me, being religious and being a Bush fan do NOT go hand in hand. I am religious and I can't STAND that guy. I jokingly tell people that I think he may be the antichrist(maybe not so jokingly). Implanted chip under the skin? Definitely a sign of the times. I can almost see the future now: Half of the population being able to get goods and services because of their implanted chips and the other half living outside of civilization in poverty, having to steal to eat, because they refuse to get implants. Sounds like a science fiction movie, but I see it as the future. And it is very scary, and it is coming at us like a freight train. Don't believe me? Well I guess you can call me a nut too.

First of all, I'm a devout Catholic and pretty much despise Bush because to me he represents the proud and arrogent so often refered to in the Bible. Christ promised to 'cast down the mighty from their thrones' and 'lift up the lowly', to 'scatter the proud in the conceit', to 'fill the hungry with good things' and send the rich away empty. I don't think we have to fear, even something so forboding sounding as an implanted chip, because we have been promised the Kingdom of God. In the end true justice will prevail.

Anyways, I can't stand Bush, but I also despise the Democrats too. They are no different, with their main aim at trying to trick the public into voting for them in order to keep their seats of power and influence.
