Do I need my RN license

I have recently completed my Associates of Science in Nursing. What I am wondering are there any jobs out there outside of the hospital setting that you can do with an ADN and no require you to have your RN?

Having an ADN doesn't convey any kind of licensing, just because you graduated from a program. You still need to take a licensing exam to work as an RN, whether you graduated from an ADN program or a BSN program. Even LPN's take an Lpn exam. Perhaps you could do a home aide of some sort, but to work as a nurse you need to be licensed. Good luck :)

Have you passed the NCLEX? Or by "your RN" are you hoping to not take the test at all? Sorry, I'm confused.

With an ADN you can work pretty much anywhere, there are some places that require a BSN but again you can get a job, even in the hospital without it.

Do you mean a job where you can work as a graduate nurse while you prepare for your boards? In my state, you have to work for a hospital (possibly a nursing home) if you are working as a grad nurse, because you are working under somebody else's license.

not aware of any job wanting degree in nursing without the license. Also do not understand why you would not want to be licensed. I recommend you talk to an advisor at the school. They may have suggestions.

If you don't mean grad nurse while waiting to take your boards, btw, I'm wondering about sales rep for drug or med equipment companies...but I'm guessing most prefer nursing experience.

Why go through school if you are not wanting to get licensed? Can you explain more. You can work as a tech, a sitter, etc but the ADN alone will not get you much. You can't work as a nurse without the registered part unless I am missing something..

A nursing degree is useless without the license to go with it. Your degree in and of itself does not qualify you for any jobs if you don't have a license. Some states will allow you to work as a graduate nurse before you take NCLEX but I believe (and I could be wrong since my state does not have this option) that you must take and pass NCLEX within a certain time frame to keep said job.

Yes you need it. Without it you just have a degree in nursing but you aren't an RN.
