My favorite is Nurse Elizabeth Webber from General hospital. I like her because no matter what your there for, shes your nurse. I feel like shes the only nurse in the hospital. One minute shes talking care of OB patients, then scrubing in on brain or heart surgery. like does she work on every floor and for every specialty. that bugs me. I love her character though.
Movie character not TV but Gaylord Focker from the movie trilogy Meet the Parents. Not only does he react calmly and professionally when bullied by his peers regarding his name, he maintained composure when faced with emergency situation, even delivering a baby who decided to come too early.
Nurse Jackie. Nurse Jackie is my favorite, not in her med stealing or cheating ways OF COURSE, but in her assertiveness and true concern for the patient. She's not afraid to stand up to the doctor when the patient needs something. She gets in there and is up front and gets the job done for the patients best interest. Now I am only in season 1 and I hope the drug stealing, using, and cheating goes away... but she is a great nurse.
Margaret Houlihan from MASH. She worked hard to become a major, and knew her job well. Her devotion to the Army and to the 4077th cost her relationships with others.
How many of us can relate to working so hard on our education, for a promotion, or to keep things going a little smoother at work? Maybe there is a little more Major Margaret Houlihan in each of us than we know or want.
My favorite would have to be Dixie McCall from Emergency. Seriously, who wouldn't want to work with Johnny Gage!! Yes, I know she was in a r/ship with Dr. Kelly Bracket but she never let that stand in the way of how she acted as a nurse. Although NOT TV, my all-time two faves would have to be Annie Wilkes from Misery (we both graduated from Bakersfield College) and Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckcoo's Nest. Not much I can say about those two...except they were great characters and hopefully not examples for students in Nursing School. (LOL)
April Sexton on Chicago Med. She embodies a nurse in the true sense of what Florence Nightingale wanted for our profession. April isn't afraid to speak her mind and she always advocates for her patients. She is a team player and treats her colleagues and patients with respect. She is an intelligent nurse and is cool as a cucumber in a fast paced ER environment. She faces challenges with her health and through it all her first thought is always about her patients! She is a strong female from a minority background who is a phenomenal nurse!

I just rewatched scrubs before it went off Netflix. I hate Carla now. Oh man watching it now I realize how horrible a person she is!
