Vespas!! Yeah, The word vespa was flitting around inside the cotton wool in my head, but refused to come out.

Have you seen the Vespa CARS? They are SOOOOooo cool! Teeny tiny little cars, but pretty comfy. There's another kind of car, I was thinking was Vespa but I'm thinking it's more French than Italian that the FRONT opens up - it had a steering BAR like a rudder. Maybe even is a 3-wheeler instead of a 4 wheeler?

Has anybody seen any of those? It would have to be somebody who has been in Europe, probably a LONG time ago.

OOoooh, Rick. I don't know - I've never been much for television. Never really felt like I missed much, until now! Well, I worked in an office once, where I was pretty much the only person without any conversation on Tuesdays because I didn't watch that soap opera that played on Monday nights in the 80's.

I'll have to see if there's anything about it on the internet!

Yep, Rick, that is the one. My next door neighbor had one too, back in the 70's. She and her 2 little girls filled the single seat, as she took them to school. Too funny, and scarreee!

They have them in the States? Wow! What's the name of them? I want to see if I can find anything online. But I can't remember the name of the car. Do you?

98 H-D Sportster Sport..... love it BUT just went to a bike event and tried a bike called Ridley some thing like that it was an automatic!!!!! It had an automatic transmission on it, and it was sweet!!!! I did not know that they could make a motorcycle that you did not have to shift gears manually.... totally freaked me out and I am thinking about getting one.....someday

i never realized they made a bike with an auto either. however, my guess is it's like the old volkswagons, not a true automatic, just no manual clutch.

A bike with an automatic is not something new, just something that never caught on.

Honda made a 750 with an automatic tranny in 76, 77 and 78.

Another bike they made that I have always wanted, is the CBX, made from 79-82, it is a six cylinder bike.

It can't hold a candle to todays performance bikes, but that is ok with me, I just like the look and concept of the 6 cylinders.

Dennie I think you mean a "Heinkel" bubble car. the door opened forward, so you best not park too close to anything! The steering column hinged at the bottom, and swung out of the way as the door opened. Messerschmit made one, long and narrow, with the "co-pilot" sat behind the driver, and the canopy hinged sideways, so you had to climb in and out. I have a long, convoluted tale about one involving a vicar, and a truck driver!!
Mr. Bean drove a "Mini." Volkswagon have recently brought out an updated version, like the "new" beetle. Mini's were the stars of "The Italian Job" a 70's heist movie.
Triumph's "Slickshift" gearboxes were not exactly automatic, but made clutchless gearchanges fast & easy, helping them win lots of races in the US, till Harley got the AMA to change the rules!
