GCC Glendale Community College ADN Program Summer 2020

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone! I applied to Glendale's RN program and waiting for invitation email to take the TEAS. Did anyone apply to any other schools besides Glendale? I applied to Mt.SAC's RN program as well but I know I'm not going to be selected since it's a point-based system and my points are pretty low

Thank you @blueestar.

@jpalmtree I think the application isn't available until April 1.

No, didn't get any email. I'm guessing we're getting the email close to the end of the month or right on May 1st

Wait is killing me

Did you guys get the email that was send today? Acceptance or denials will be going out on June 1st. Summer intersession if accepted will be through Zoom.

I did get an email but didn't read anything about acceptance or denials dates

Here's what the email said:

Dear Applicant,

We hope this email finds you and your family well. Although this past month has brought many drastic changes to our usual work flow, the department has made every effort to adapt to any necessary adjustments and has continued to work diligently to review your RN program applications for eligibility for the Summer/Fall 2020 cohort. At this time, however, we are experiencing a slight delay in our timeline.

Chancellor’s Formula Cut Score

We expect to have the Chancellor’s Formula cut score data on or before May 15th. This means on or before May 15th, you will receive an email from the department which notifies you if you meet the Chancellor’s Formula cut score and are eligible to take the TEAS. If you do not meet the Chancellor’s Formula cut score, you will receive an email regarding a remediation plan.

TEAS Version VI

We currently do not have a date set to administer the TEAS. This date will be finalized and communicated to you on or before May 15th. However, as we follow the current social distancing and “Safer at Home” mandates, please note that the TEAS Version VI will be administered remotely using Proctorio, a learning integrity platform.

If you choose to take the TEAS with Proctorio, you will need the following:

Microphone: any microphone, either internal or external

Webcam: 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum) internal or external

Desktop or laptop computer (no iPads, tablets or phones are to be used) with the ability to install Proctorio Google Chrome extension

High-speed internet

A full list of ATI technical requirements can be found at www.attesting.com/technical-requirements.

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to provide these items for you, nor can we assist with troubleshooting. If you do not have the above requirements, or if you would prefer to take the TEAS at a later time, please reply to this email to let us know that you would like to defer your TEAS exam to be eligible for Winter/Spring 2021 instead. Please note that deferring your TEAS to a later time will not impact the status of your application. This only means we will hold your file for the Winter/Spring 2021 so you do not need to reapply.

If you have already taken the TEAS Version VI, you do not need to send your official results at this time. You will be asked to send your first score after we determine that you have met the Chancellor’s Formula cut score.

Summer Intersession

Applicants who are admitted for the Summer/Fall 2020 cohort are required to complete NS 200 and NS 205 during the Summer Intersession. On April 23, 2020, an announcement was made by our Superintendent/President that remote instruction and work from home procedures would continue through the Summer intersession. This means if you are selected for the Summer/Fall 2020 cohort, your courses will be taught remotely through Zoom.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through these unprecedented changes. Please reply to this email with any questions or concerns you may have.

This is what my email said, I think it's also because I've already applied before and I don't have to take my TEAS test.

Yeah, that's probably why your email is different than mine haha. I still have to take my TEAS. I was supposed to take it on April 8th but it got canceled and I rescheduled for May 20th, hopefully it doesn't get canceled. What was your TEAS score, if you don't mind me asking?

FYI, I would check in with the Nursing Department. Maybe you can take the TEAS with proctorio. Many schools are permitting that now.

Oh I see, I think taking the TEAS through proctorio is a good alternative for a lot of people that aren’t able to go take it in person. I got a pretty low score on my TEAS that I’m sad to even say. I did pass though but barely. I took mines almost two years ago too. Either way I think you guys will do fine on the TEAS if you’re prepared. I wasn’t but I still passed the cut score.

Yeah, I read that in the email and I might do that!
