Gateway SUMMER Fast Track LPN Program

Published

Has anyone heard back about acceptance to the summer SUMMER LPN session starting on May 17th?

So did you get called, mightymurse?

I heard we lost another student because they didn't get their fingerprint card back yet.

No, but I did get in for the fall.

Yikes, that's a tough break on the fingerprint card. I will keep my phone with me on Monday, just in case!

Good luck, I can't wait to get started!

Does anyone know if another summer program will be offered? I heard it was offered in the past.

I hope they have another summer program this year! I just went in to get my application signed for the Spring 2011 semester, and as far as the people there knew there would not be another summer program this year. We can hope that changes, though :)

I have all my paperwork ready, and am taking it Friday to get it signed. I have tried calling several times to make an appointment, but no one has returned my call. So, I'm just going to the walk in time tomorrow.

When you are selected, how do they notify you? Do they send it to your email address listed on the application? Or call you? I sure hope that I can start by next Fall! I am being patient.

I had a question for someone who has turned in their application already. What did you submit as proof of your vaccines? Or did you get titers done for everything? I faxed all of my stuff to the admin asst who looks over the medical part of the application, but she hasn't gotten back with me yet. I am wondering if what I am going to submit will be sufficient.

I had chicken pox as a kid, so i got the titer. I also got a titer for hep b because i had the vaccines farther apart than I was supposed to. For the other vaccines, I submitted a copy of the record from the health dept in Michigan. Will that be sufficient? What did everyone else submit? What about the TB test? What proof did you need of the two step test? Any help is greatly appreciated! I am scrambling to make sure I have everything in order!

Had all my paperworks checked and signed by ---- which include: (this is the 1st step to apply- applicants will not be able to go the 2nd step unless this is done?)

HESI result

Fingerprint Card

CNA license

CPR card

then she told me to come back in Nov 1, 2 & 5...all other requirements will be check by the Nursing Advisor (this include the Vaccination records, Physical, TB test)..I believe that this is the 2nd & final step to apply for the LPN program..

I had everything checked by ---- as well, and then she said to just bring the health documentation on those dates, so I guess that's it....Then the waiting begins! Hopefully it will not be more than 1 semester...

Just FYI, I would bring the entire completed application packet with CNA license info, vaccination info, dr. signature form, BLS card, Fingerprint card with you when you go to turn it in. THis is from experience. Trust me, whether ---- has checked it off or not, they faculty at the application drop off want to see ALL of it again. I took only what ---- said I needed to bring, and I ended up having to go home and come back with the rest of the documentation. They re-check it all again.

Good luck to all applying this go round!

Hi! I went and had my packet signed today too. Do you all know how long the process is to get the application actually signed next week? Just trying to gauge how long I'll need to be there to have it looked over. An hour or so maybe? I'm so excited! I hope we all get in, in January! Maybe with hopefully 3 programs going, that's about 100 spots right? Let's hope! :)

Are there 3 programs going on? I asked the advisor, and she said they probably would not be having a summer program again....Thanks for the heads up about the documentation, that's helpful to know. Yeah, I would love to start in January, but that doesn't seem like a possibility. I'm planning on taking everything on Monday, and I'm just taking the whole day off work because you never know how long it will take to get everything checked in.

The woman said that they have 3 people doing everything, but there is normally a wait.

I heard that they were offering a day, afternoon, and night program again. So if that is true, that does open up a few more spots. At least I hope so! And I am going Monday too. I just want to get it signed off, and be done with it! Do you know how long it will take until we hear who gets in and when?
