Gateway LPN Fast Track

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I just got a call asking me if I am still interested in their program. I applied last October and did not get into January program. They will be sending letters in a couple of weeks. Anybody else got a call?

(Hi Marlene, thanks for your other reply!) :uhoh3:Now I'm worried too! I had no idea they were two separate things. I called RSAA and they said I could do it early also....BUT now I'm trying to get a hold of someone at Gateway to see what the correct place to get the card from is. :uhoh3:

For Gateway, you need to call DPS and order a fingerprint packet. If you go onto the Maricopa nursing website:

www.nursing.maricopa.edu, click on the link for future students and then the link for fingerprint clearance card. It gives all the info to contact DPS. In the packet that DPS sends, they also send a list of where you can get the fingerprints done.

You can use the RSAA fingerprints and send them into DPS.. I will warn you that the people at RSAA usually are not experienced with fingerprinting and they may get rejected by DPS. As long as you paid your fee and sent them to dps with the DPS application you should be fine. (as long as your fingerprints are acceptable) The board of nursing requires seperate prints and application for your CNA license. You need DPS clearance card for the community college.

Okay I got all the info and locations to get everything done. This thread is more helpful than any advisor I've talked to! Thanks to all!

I went to RSAA for my CNA and I had to get my fingerprints done again, which delayed everything. It is pricey to get your CNA there but worth it because you get it done quick. I just called DPS and they mailed me an application and I got my fingerprints done at a mailbox place for like $10. I defiantly think you should send in your application and fingerprints to DPS now.

Good luck!

That's funny because when I went down to RSAA to get them refingerprinted, they acted like it never has happened to them before. Well, lesson learned. The last time I needed one (about 4 years ago) I had them done at the UPS store and they came back unreadable. Maybe it's my fingers that are the problem, not the fingerprinter.

Has anyone worked as a CNA while going to nursing school? I'm thinking I won't have time, but I need to keep working somehow.

I have been looking to get into a hospital working as a CNA, but nothing has happened. They all want people with years of experience. I start the program next month, and I really don't want to work but if I can get into the hospital I'll take it.

:paw: Fingerprint update! RSAA will do the fingerprints for DPS and CNA licensure (if you trust them to do them right)... My problem is the ones taken for certification cannot be sent in until the course is completed (which makes sense, I guess) so, my class will finish 10/2 and I probably won't be actually certified until it is too late  to apply for Gateway but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!:yeah:

Does anyone know how long the program is? Does it go through the summer if you start in January? Is it two semesters or three? Any info is appreciated! :nuke:
