  1. i just started chem 130 at rio about one week ago. i am doing the 8 week accelerated class. i would have taken the 16 week this summer but i am desperate. i am also in the second semester of fast track pn program at gateway cc. i cannot apply for block 3 until i have a grade for chem. so i'm just pounding it out now and getting it over with. i know it's crazy but i really want to start block 3 this fall. i'm motivated and i know i can do it. so far its not too bad. the essays are one paragraph at max. if you really want it, you can do it. just lock down and study study. each week 2 labs and 2 lecture assignments are due. i'd imagine 1 lab and 1 lecture assignment would be due in the 16 week class.
  2. I just started the LPN program this semester. They have added an afternoon program. So they have day, afternoon, and evening now. They did say there was still a good amount of students waiting to get in for Spring. But atleast there is another program, so more spaces will be available. You should go down there and speak with an advisor about when the new application comes out.
  3. Does anyone know what the procedure is for applying to block 3 once you complete the PN program? I know you have to score at least an 800 on the HESI. Like when do you apply? Or what if you have one pre-req left that you need for block 3? How long would someone normally wait to start block 3? The following semester?
  4. I'm in the afternoon program. The first few weeks classes are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 2-5p then clinicals start on Mondays and Tues.-Weds class is still 2-5p. I'm not sure what time days/times are for the morning program. All you need is your CNA, fingerprint card, CPR and make sure your up to date on all immunizations. Thats pretty much it.
  5. The books and tote are available in the bookstore at Gateway already. I may just get mine before orientation so I can look thru them. I think its going to be just over $500 for the books + tote.
  6. Its just 2 semesters, and theres no class during the summer.
  7. So I just looked on the my.maricopa website and they put our schedule up for Fall! Who else is in the afternoon cohort? 2-6p
  8. I have been looking to get into a hospital working as a CNA, but nothing has happened. They all want people with years of experience. I start the program next month, and I really don't want to work but if I can get into the hospital I'll take it.
  9. I went to RSAA for my CNA and I had to get my fingerprints done again, which delayed everything. It is pricey to get your CNA there but worth it because you get it done quick. I just called DPS and they mailed me an application and I got my fingerprints done at a mailbox place for like $10. I defiantly think you should send in your application and fingerprints to DPS now. Good luck!
  10. I personally think you should just take Micro summer 2. I'm currently taking Eng 102 online with Micro in class, then taking Mat summer 2 and probably Chem 130. You can do it! Just buckle down and get it done. You will be so thankful. I also start the nursing program this Fall and thats the only reason I'm taking Chem 130 summer 2. I'm getting it all done, so all I have to focus on is nursing, and then next summer I'll take the pre-reqs for the RN-BSN at ASU. Just focus and remember it WILL be worth it in the end!
  11. :DThanks! I'm pretty sure I'll sign up for it!
  12. I am thinking of taking CHM130 online at RIO summer 2. I'll be starting the Gateway LPN program this fall and I would like to have all my pre and co-reqs completed. If I do this it will enable me to take the ASU RN-BSN pre-reqs next summer. Can anyone let me know how CHM 130 was at RIO?
  13. i think i'm going to work and see how the first exam goes. if i continue to do well on exams then i'll keep my job, but if not i'm quitting. haha!
  14. I emailed asking about the schedule. Hopefully it all works out. Yeah, I received a schedule with my acceptance letter. I’m in the “afternoon” program. I spoke with one of my co-workers who just finished in December. I asked her about how heavy the course load is. I have been debating if I should quit my job while in the program. Each person I speak with gives mixed advice.
  15. So I was just wondering if anyone may know when our schedule will show up like on our my.maricopa wed site. I am using financial aid, and I know I won't be awarded until I have a class schedule.
