Have the applications for the next semester even come out yet?

The silly thing is, I do not eve know if I got into the program...I got so excited and did not ask does that mean I got the spot or not. If you are in the program, did they call you first to tell you that you got into the program or what? Do you know when the August program starts?

I will be in Europe for 5 weeks and will be back 8/7. I just hope it will not start before that.

I just got a letter when I got in but I do know that those that were on the waitlist that got in got a call first. They may be sending letters out to those that are on the list that got in for the next semester to make sure they have everything up to date still to start the program? Did the fall deadline for apps already pass? Oh and I don't know when the Aug program starts, I'm sure I'll know soon, I'm just trying to get through this semester at this point. Only 9 weeks left :yeah:

That's awesome Glina! I still haven't taken a cna class, although I did inquire about the one at gateway. I am waiting to hear about that......

I recommend if you are planning on going to Gateway and haven't taken a CNA yet to do so at Gateway

That is my plan. I spoke with the person that coordinates the class, and looks like I will miss the summer one. I am hoping to get in the fall one and then hopefully can apply right into the lpn program. I'm afraid by then there will be an even longer waitlist though.....we'll just have to see. If it's meant to be....right???

So, I am confused...which is nothing new...ha!:wink2: When I talked to the advisor back in November, I was told they do not have a waitlist, or do a carry over from semester to semester....that if you didn't get picked for that semester, you had to reapply for the next one. I wasn't eligible for Spring, but am applying for Fall. Now I am a little discouraged as it sounds like there IS a wait-list and carryover from previous application period. I have a call in to the advisor, but it is always hit and miss if or when they call back. I know they are so busy. Any insight you guys can give.

Also, is it true that selection is based on a lottery system? Again, that is what I was told, but who knows. With MCCDNP things change daily.

They change things pretty much to fit the needs of the program. But yes it is a lottery system, spaces open after those that are in partner programs first then deferred or waitlist then new applications. Its what they did last semester, but a lot of people got in this semester applied in October. But we were told there are people, 50 or so, waiting to get in.

Hi Glina, for some reason it won't let me reply to your message.

The same thing happened to me when I applied in Spring 08. I was put on the wait list one semester and then got the same call you did, wanting to know which program I wanted (day or eve). If you got that far, I suspect you probably got in. The people on the waiting list get calls first before new applicants. I would be looking for your letter of acceptance within the next week or so.

I, of course, don't know for 100% sure, but this is my suspicion. I hope congratulations are in order. :yeah:
