- Hello everyone, I am trying to get to the RN program with Hersing college here in Orlando FL, and I am going to take my NET february 8th 2008, i was wondering, how is the net test? is it close the the www.testprepreview.com ?
i have been studying for the NET based on the exemple from testprepreview, and i am doing all right, i missed only 2 question out of the 60!
my question is, will it be similar, to that? or harder? is that only basic algebra or more? will it also have TRIGonometry?
thank you for your help
Carlos
I took this test. Here are my recommendations:
1. Get the book for the test. There are 2 tests for each section, reading and math that give you the practice....they are exactly like the test.
2. You have 60 minutes for math, 60 questions. No calculators.
3. Reading: 30 minutes. They will give you reading comprehension paragraphs broken down onto several different pages on the computer. Remember what the paragraph says because you can't go back to look at them once you go to the next page.
4. In the beginning, they will give you a speed reading test. They will tell you that you need to comprehend what your reading because there will be questions when you get to the end of the speed reading part. Push that space bar as if you read or skim very quickly because there are no questions to answer and it takes part of your time for reading...you WILL need every minute of the 30 to get all of the reading questions completed. I read as they told me to on the speed part and was unable to complete 3 reading questions. It even tells you to read the speed part slow.
The book, which you should be able to get at the bookstore where you are taking the test, explains the test parts well and what to expect.
Good luck!
See here is where i get confused
I just paid 15 dollars for the practice test,
took it (my scores now are composite 91% 97-math 84 english)
and there was NOOOO college algebra...
now nursejd11 says :
" - Don't worry there is no trig on the test, but there is plenty of college algebra "
well, am i taking something way too easy and the test will be way more dificult full of complex algebra, or... nursejd11 tought the basic algebra was hard???
on the math test i missed 1 question only!!! Number System conversion ...!!!
and i have to improve the "prediction of outcomes" portion (wich i have no clue what it is)
basicaly, i am trying to get more than a 91% wich i already got, since there are 300 people aplying for 20 openings... I must get at least on 95% up!!!
OH MYYY GOOOD
i didn't even start and l am getting nervous already,
reason being, i am not good in math and here i am scoring 29 out of 30!!! on the web-based practice test!!!
Guys positive thoughts towards me I need them!!! i have been studying since december 1st for the net, and trying to do my very best!!!
at least 3 hours per day 4 days a week!, i know it might sound stupid, but there are too many people (300) for a few positions (20) so ...
i am sure that 91 might not be enough,...
any sugestions on exercises???
The algebra on the NET is just like the practice tests and the book. It's basic algebra. There is no trig or geometry. It sounds like you are in vg shape. Make sure you order the book or see if your school library has it so you can take a few more practice tests. You don't need to study so much anymore. You're set. Good luck!!
I don't know about the NET, but I took thwe AHT, Allied Health Test, and it was based more on quick timing than hard questions. I t was multiple choice English reading, writing, and Math. They gave us 20 minutes fo rthe reading, 11 minutes for the writing, and 18 minutes for the math. I did exceptionally well, seeing tyhat it was fairly easy. Everything was basic, with the exception of a few brain teasers in Math, but overall easy. Good luck.

This link is just like the NET I took in Michigan. I hope it helps you.
