I'll give you some clues: Leeches were used to drain the bad blood. Anesthetic for surgical procedures was whiskey and a bedpost to bite on. Evil Nurses were thrown in sloughs to see if they would float. Yeah- I think I've been a Nurse for a little more than 10 years.

Yes. I worked in a small rural Community Hospital. One Old Farmer said to me, "You're a Nurse just 'cause you're not smart enough to be a Doctor!" I looked him right straight in the eye and said, "So- what's your point?"
