Anybody applying for the nursing program at FSW for the spring in 2017? I plan to take my TEAS sometime August or September, does anyone know what the passing score is? And have you finished all your prerequisites and general ed? The only prereqs I have left to do is A&P2, nutrition, and micro. But still have all the general eds left to do. But you don't have to have all the general eds finished before applying right? Sorry, I'm new at this.
Thank you so much for sharing all of this great info with us! I have some questions as well if you don't mind :)1.Class is 3-4 days a week, isn't it? From what I saw it looked like 3 days regular weeks , 4 days on simulation weeks.
2.Is is homework more busy work ( papers, assignments, etc) or mostly just studying ?
3. Do you always go to the hospital the night before clinical to get patient info ?
4. For lecture only days, do you wear the polo/ your uniform ?
5. Did you get to pick your clinical day? Or do you know of anyone that was able to switch days from what they were assigned ?
Thank you so much again!!
1. At lee we had classes/clinical 3 days a week.
2. Homework is mostly reading, studying, practicing skills. In the first half of the semester, there are a lot of online assignments and quizzes with one essay for pharm. The online assignments never end for pharm but do for H&W.
3. This semester we did not go to the hospital the night before or did care plans. Instead we do assignments during the clinical day and turn in before we leave.
4. Lecture wear anything. Clinical white scrubs. Practicum polo and either scrub pants or khakis.
5. You pick when you sign up or get stuck with what's left based on when you were able to sign up. There is no switching unless something changes with the site and then you will be placed somewhere else.
I got the same answer, so I went a head and purchased the book bundle, just waiting to figure out what to do about the Ati carp bundle :/
Talk to someone in the nursing department. This past semester they were able to hold off on the ati fee until semester two for those with financial aid due to the 1,000 cap.
Anyone know where to get your CPR certification that is BLS instead of heart saver? I went to the fire station to get certified and when I uploaded it to castle branch it said it couldn't accept it cause it was Heartsaver and not BLS... even tho it's through the AHA... I dont know what to do I'm freaking out cause we need it by Wednesday and I dont know where to get it now

[h=3]Search for Rhonda Bonacquisti bls healthcare provider cpr classes, you take the course like not even a two hr course and you get the card the same day. Plus it was the most fun course with her[/h]
Alright I finished my checklist! All my immunization records were good, I got my books, ATI, uniform, BLS, registered for classes and now the only thing I have to do left is pay for the classes which I'm waiting for financial aid to see how much I would have to pay. I'm so excited guys we are starting in less than a month!
Hi guys!
I just found this forum and it has been so helpful. Thank you.
I just bought the book bundle and I was wondering if it did come with the nursing lab codes for pharmacology and the other book?
I opened the box but the books are sealed and I was wondering if the codes are inside the books and I just can't see them. I don't want to unseal them and the codes not be there. Thank you

Yes, the codes are between the textbooks if you take off the plastic wrap!

For the first class of H&W you need to have read Modules 42, 43, 44, & 49 and ATI 3 & 4 and for Pharm the first class you need Chapters 1-4 read.
For H&W you go back and forth from Vol. 1 -2 during the semester, while pharm goes in order by chapter. For pharm your reading 5-6 Chapters a week and H&W 3-4 Modules.
