Fsw Fall 2017
I don't have a number from them but from when I did the math myself I was looking at about $10K. Luckily, its not something you have to pay for upfront. The school has lots of resources to help you fund the classes and books so don't get too hung up on costs

Hi Weiny! In your second semester you will be required to purchase software and additional ATI packages. Since Chris is working on getting the price down for us, I don't have an exact number yet. This is not included in the ~$4000 for the first semester. Also, you will need to budget for a second TB shot for your 3rd semester since TBs are only valid for 1 year. And you will need to purchase another background check to make sure you didn't kill anyone during your first year of school Hi Knhemeon1! I believe Walk is applying for the same semester you are. But to answer your questions: 1. toughest semester so far? I am only finished with my first semester so I do not have experience from the others. It is my understanding from people in the semesters ahead of me that the first semester is the "hardest" because it's all concepts and theories. It will get more technical in the second semester and on. 2. How are clinicals if you have had them? Clinicals are amazing. You will have them after your 1st month. I had my clinicals at Gulf Coast Hospital. My next rotation is at Cape. 3. What was your gpa/ teas score upon acceptance? Teas 80 GPA 3.09 All prereqs finished prior to applying. The main focus for the Teas is Math. Science is easier to teach along the way over anything else that you would have to learn. If you are scoring 90%+ in that, you should be good to go.

Fsw Fall 2017
Hi Walk! I just finished my first semester. The textbooks are about $1000 and you will be required to purchase an ATI Bundle for about $600. But you will use these for all 4 semesters. Your entire first semester(books, programs, uniforms, background/immunizations tuition and lab fees) should cost about $4000. They have also worked with the Financial Aid department to allow a higher limit for nursing students since they require more than what is typically allowed in the bookstore. They will require you to purchase software after your first semester which is about $5-700. They are working with the company to bring the costs down. Keep this in mind if you apply for financial aid so you can have both semesters covered. For clinicals, my semester had two days(M & F). You just pick from what is available. Available days are bid on in a previous semester and can vary from semester to semester. Rema Stephens does all the bidding and contracting with the hospitals and off site locations for the days. She is very transparent about the process and she will work late to make sure you get the information you need and will let you know ASAP in there are any hiccups or make up days that need to be taken care of. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you!

I went back to the bookstore and they said that nursing students now have an increased limit for Financial Aid.

Has anyone else needed to use financial aid for their books in the bookstore? I keep getting told that we can only spend $1000 but all of our materials are around $1500. Just wondering if anyone found a way around this and if so, what did you do?

Thanks for all of that! I was searching earlier today for the Pharm text and someone said they didn't use it in their program. They only used the access code. Do you find that the same for this program?

I was also wondering if anyone got it. Or if anyone has the book bundle yet and would like to share what is in it.

Appt for tomorrow. How long does it take to get the results back from the titer tests?
-
FSW spring 2017
I just called my PCP and they said insurance does not cover for school/work so they priced out the Titer at $100 per test. So $300 for MMR, Chicken Pox and Hep B. Anyone else have this pricing?

I have two doctors just in case I can't get in somewhere. Do you have another GP you can go to? Also, I heard back about the books and he did say that we may use each book in each semester for different concepts taught. So the bundle is definitely the best way to go.

Not sure if it counts, but you can go onto healthcare.gov and see what options they have for you.

I had a friend that just finished the program last semester so I just texted her about the books. Hopefully she will have some good news for us!
