FSW spring 2017

Published

Anybody applying for the nursing program at FSW for the spring in 2017? I plan to take my TEAS sometime August or September, does anyone know what the passing score is? And have you finished all your prerequisites and general ed? The only prereqs I have left to do is A&P2, nutrition, and micro. But still have all the general eds left to do. But you don't have to have all the general eds finished before applying right? Sorry, I'm new at this.

I'm not sure what the program at FSW is like, but at my school you can't even sign up for preentrance exams without completing all of the prerequisites. After that, it could be a while before you get to take the exam; this is the time to get your ges out of the way. Usually immediately before the exam they will explain what the scores mean and what is considered passing. Good luck with studying!!

When I took the teas a few months ago the program mean for fsw was 64.9%, idk if it changes every semester. I scored a 79.3% and have gotten in for fall 2016.

Oh thank you so much for this info. And congrats on your acceptance  I'm so nervous. Did you have all your pre requisites finished when you applied?

No problem :) and yes I did have them all done.

Did they provide a calculator when you took the TEAS?

Did they provide a calculator when you took the TEAS?

No they didn't but they provided paper and pencil

Oh wow:nailbiting:, was the math part difficult without the calculator?

I think it's best if you have all your prereqs completed before you apply in case you score low on the TEAS.

I agree, just thought it wouldn't hurt to apply, if I make it good. If not I'll apply again for fall and I'll have all my pre-requisites finished by then

Hi there! I'm applying for spring 2017 Charlotte campus as first choice. Which campus are you hoping for ? I am also applying with the exact same prereqs left that you have (Finishing this fall)

fsw website states no less than 65% on teas to apply.. So it's not unrealistic. In our case only applying with 6 classes, we need to do at least decent on teas to stay in the average ( although I'm not sure what your GPA is and that also makes a difference )

I've been following another thread for Fall 2016 and it seems that the majority of those accepted had total admission points in the 70s. Some were as low as 62... So don't be discouraged by not having them all done.

Im confused about what you mean when you say general Ed classes? For the program you only need the 9 prereqs + all of your nursing courses for an ASN.

anyway- looking forward to talking more! :) I'm so excited that the time to apply is finally coming! Its been a long road just to get to this point so far!
