If you have Sim you don't have clinical. When it comes to books I never carried any books because I used the etexts. You just go to pearsonetext.com and log in with your my nursing lab info. Oh and just a heads up we just found out we need to spend another $500 on online programs for our next semester and $350 for the third.

Talk to someone in the nursing department. This past semester they were able to hold off on the ati fee until semester two for those with financial aid due to the 1,000 cap.

1. At lee we had classes/clinical 3 days a week. 2. Homework is mostly reading, studying, practicing skills. In the first half of the semester, there are a lot of online assignments and quizzes with one essay for pharm. The online assignments never end for pharm but do for H&W. 3. This semester we did not go to the hospital the night before or did care plans. Instead we do assignments during the clinical day and turn in before we leave. 4. Lecture wear anything. Clinical white scrubs. Practicum polo and either scrub pants or khakis. 5. You pick when you sign up or get stuck with what's left based on when you were able to sign up. There is no switching unless something changes with the site and then you will be placed somewhere else.

For the first class of H&W you need to have read Modules 42, 43, 44, & 49 and ATI 3 & 4 and for Pharm the first class you need Chapters 1-4 read. For H&W you go back and forth from Vol. 1 -2 during the semester, while pharm goes in order by chapter. For pharm your reading 5-6 Chapters a week and H&W 3-4 Modules.

I'm in the full-time day program. I work three 12 hr shifts, have class two days, and one day off which is pretty much entirely dedicated to school. I also spend several hours after class each day reading and studying.

@mar1987 The bundle includes all My Nursing Lab codes, Etext codes, and hard copies of books. Clinical Nursing Skills: A Concept-Based Approach, Nursing:A Concept-Based Approach Vol. 1 & 2, and Pharmacology: Connections to Nursing.

I work full time and it's do able but not easy. It's important that your job is flexible because sometimes meeting or clinicals might change. When it comes to the codes you have to have them so when I was looking at it in the summer it was cheaper to buy new because Pearson was only selling online access with the online book, but that might have changed.

I'm at the lee campus. They changed pharm to oncampus?? If so that's great but check your section number if the middle number is an 8 its online. I found out the hard way even though I picked a day and time with a room for the class. The first semester you don't go to clinical for I think the first three-four weeks. Then you do three shifts at a nursing home, one at a daycare, one at outpatient cardio rehab, and the rest are at the hospital either on ortho or a rehab floor. Most of the semester you follow CNAs and towards the end you follow nurses. Due to the new curriculum you learn vitals late in the semester so you won't start those until your at the hospital and you can't handle or pass meds like they have done in the past. You can help feed patients, do baths, and change patients. Hope this helps.

Congrats to everyone getting in! I'm a student that started this past fall and thought I'd tell you some things I wish I'd known. First off the books are for the whole program, but other texts may be recommended. If you are the type of person that is good with ebooks you could save money that way. If not the bundle at school comes to about 1,000 with tax and you have to have the codes for MyNursing Lab which they come with. There is also an ATI fee we found out last minute about and it is about $600 and an additional $515 for lab fees. When it comes to scrubs the pants are super see through so ladies its good to have a cheap thin pair of leggings for underneath. It's also good to get a stain pen for makeup, food, and whatever else you may/will get on your scrubs. When it comes to the classes they are not your typical college class (unless after our feedback they change). You have to learn everything on your own and class time is spent making posters, watching videos, playing games, doing case studies etc (it may sound fun, but no one I've talked to yet feels like class time is beneficial to their learning). You have to be an independent learner. When it comes to pharmacology you are basically on your own since its online. Use your ATI online pharm book and just memorize the drugs and don't worry so much about mynursinglab besides just completing what you have to. If you have questions feel free to ask.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if I had to buy the book bundle they were selling or not. Also did you guys use Pharmacology: Connections to nursing? I was debating on buying the 2nd edition instead of the newest. Not sure how they teachers are about students using used texts and if there are any major differences.
