Jj1999, I called CON today and my advisor said it will probably be another 2 weeks till we hear anything and the committee is meeting this week to go through applications. She said about 80 people applied and they have 25 seats...... Sounds competitive but not as bad as Miami dade or fiu. Have u applied to other schools in Miami? I applied to dade for the accelerated and the generic in may and didn't get in so I applied again in sept and waiting to hear from them also. Soooo nerve wracking!

I also applied for the FSU ABSN. I wish we would find out now! I also heard from another applicant they may offer 30 people spots because they lost several people last year to other schools. Good luck to everyone that applied!

I got a 95 on the HESI and my overall undergrad GPA is somewhere around 3.85ish (don't know just the pre-reqs). The advisors wouldn't give me any hints about what scores they were looking for or what accepted students last year had.

Hi Woodie...very nervous after reading the last few posts. I have not applied to Dade because I would like to get BSN and I had not taken the test they require by the deadline, but I am taking classes at Dade now. If I do not get into FSU then I am going to apply to FAU, UM, UCF and USF. Please let me know if you hear anything else.

Supposely the applicants have been ranked and they are waiting for word from the Dean on how many they can accept but if you call tomorrow afternoon they should be able to tell you if you got accepted! Hopefully they really mean it this time!

Hi Everyone! I keep up with this post almost daily and thought it was about time I posted. :-) I've applied for the 2011 ABSN program, too. I spoke to the CON on Thursday got the same info DLuxe did - that the committee met last Wednesday and they expected to send the letters out either Friday or today (depending on when the dean got back to them with the numbers). I live in Tallahassee, and the letter did not arrive Saturday or today, so I'm thinking they got mailed today. It usually only takes one day for mail to reach anywhere in town, so I hope there's something in my mailbox tomorrow. Are you all having trouble thinking about anything else like I am??? It will just be good to know one way or the other (of course, I hope it's happy news.) Good luck to you all! If DLuxe is right, I'm sure the CON phones will be ringing off the hook tomorrow!

Hey everyone! I've been keeping up with this post as well. Thank you DLuxe and 2011BSN for the updated information! I've called a couple times and they basically have just told me that decisions haven't been made yet, but they hope know something soon. Hopefully we'll know something by tomorrow! It's killing me! The delay makes me feel like I'm not getting accepted, but I know we're all in the same boat...just waiting to hear something! I called the CON today at 12:05 (hey, it was technically afternoon), and they said they were almost finished compiling the list and that I should call back later in the afternoon. Well, I did, and was told I was accepted!!! I am experiencing so many emotions right now, but the top ones would have to be pure joy, RELIEF, and excitement for what's to come in January. Did anyone else call?

Heyyyyyy guys so I called today also around 1:30 and spoke to the advisor but unfortunately I only got bad news..... Didn't make it into the program :crying2: so needless to say I'm pretty disappointed. I've worked so hard over the last year and a half; I had a 4.0 in my prereqs and an 87 on the HESI but apparently everyone applying is VERY smart so the competition is stiff. The good news is I got accepted to the Miami Dade accelerated program for January so I will be in school by 2011 regardless.

The advoisor told me they have accepted 24 people right now and are waiting for word from the Dean to find out if they can accept more students but it is all based on the clinical spots they have available. So for everyone that hasn't heard yet, you should definitely call tomorrow and good luck to everyone!!!!

Congratulations to all who got accepted to Florida State AND Miami Dade. Both are equally wonderful accomplishments! And here's to an exciting 2011!
