Hello, everyone!
Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.
I noticed that on the list of items you have to buy for the program includes a lab coat. I was wondering if anyone knows if that is any lab coat or a specific lab coat from fscj that is embroidered or something. Im doing micro right now and I just wanted to kill two birds with one stone since I need a lab coat for micro.

You wont need the lab coat in the program :)
Hello! I have a question about the program. Does anyone know if any nursing classes will be offered at the Deerwood Campus for Summer or Fall? I want to apply but have to consider the commute time. Thank you!
The night/weekend class is at Deerwood center, and I think they offer that this Summer and Fall. However, they only accept 24 students for N/W and if you want to apply for Summer the deadline is Feb. 1.
kjkkm- So is there anything else we don't necessarily need for the program that is on the list? The first semester is going to be sooo expensive!
Just the lab coat. It is a lot!
Apply for work source as soon as you get your packet. That will pay for tuition & required books. most people qualify. its paper work & some basic education assessments. The information to apply will be in the packet. Don't put it off, funds do run out.
My insurance covered my physical, vaccinations & titers.

Thanks, I will look into that when the time comes! Luckily I have health insurance as well.
You can email Cheryl James and she can email you the application or send me your email address and I can forward the application she gave me. Also if you have any questions you can always email her, she is super helpful! As far as I know, you can only submit a FSCJ transcript. One of the emails she sent me says " If coming from another school, all transcripts must be evaluated by FCSJ Records Office before applying". So I'm sure they will add it to your FSCJ transcript for you to submit.
Hope that helps! =]
Thanks Kate. I was about to drive all the way to North Campus for the application. I never knew it was online. My email is [email protected]
Hi everyone!
I turned in my application this afternoon with a total of 204.5 points. Hopefully, that's good enough to get me in for Summer 2014 days!! Does anyone know how many students are accepted each term into the program? Oh and another question…how do you qualify for work source & what exactly is it? Thanks :)
Good luck to everyone!
Amy
Hello ladies,
I just joined Allnurses.com. Im going to apply at FSJ for the RN program this summer also. So far I have 170 points and I am two classes short. I am a little reluctant to apply because we start summer time (if I get in, fingers crossed :0 ) What is your take on this ladies? Thank you for your feedback! Cheers-J

Welcome! What classes are you short? Just asking as the only classes that can be incomplete but enrolled in is Microbiology. Don't want you to waste your time if you are missing any more of the required classes! Sounds like you are on track for a good score though :-)

From what I have read on this site, it looks like the results come out anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks after the deadline. I turned it in this week and I already feel like the time is going to creep by.
