FSCJ Summer 2014 Hopefuls

Published

Hello, everyone!

Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.

Hi all, I took my NAT this morning, I got a 115.2!! I am so excited, I will be applying with 235 points for the N/W program. The NAT was so stressful, even though I normally have low test anxiety.

Beatrice- thank you for the information

I can't wait to meet my N/W classmates!:)

I must also congratulate you on your accomplishment; 235 points is AwEsOmE!! :roflmao: I have applied for N/W with a score of 202.16; we will see where this gets me. Well, I wish you the best during your journey and hope to be one of your fellow classmates soon!!! Happy, Happy, Happy!!!!

I am new to this forum, however, I am excited to see others as excited as I am about entering the RN program at F.S.C.J. for summer term. It has been a road full of expectation, as well as obstacles, and now the comes the line in the sand; the crossing to the goal. I will turn in my application tomorrow, with a total of 202.16 points. I was disappointed with my score at first, but, now am more hopeful after reading this forum. Good luck to all of you hopefuls, and I will see some of you this summer in class.

If there are any in this forum considering nights and weekends, let me know! I am so excited.......

Hi! I applied for the nights/weekends program and I know there is at least one other girl on here. I am so excited; I can't stop stalking this website. ;)

How funny, I was writing a comment to you when you posted this. Thank you! I can't wait to meet all of our classmates, especially since there will only be 24 of us!!!! eeeeeeekkkkkk :D

Just took the NAT for the first time. I struggled on the INS-natural sciences part. I will put in my app for summer and pray but I plan on taking it again in April. Any suggestions for preparing for the natural sciences part of the NAT? Thanks and good luck to everyone! ps, can our application packets be hand delivered to the nursing office on north campus?

Do you still have your anatomy & physiology and chemistry books? I would read all the chapter summaries in those 2 books. I found the INS questions to be mostly anatomy and some chemistry.

I like how you posted all of "our" classmates. Thanks for the encouragement, and best wishes to you and your success!!:nurse:

I know what you mean about being so excited, and stalking this website!! I feel the same excitement.

I'm excited also. I am kind of a late starter. I am 29 and just left the Navy in June after 8 years. Obviously I am a CNA (which is hard work I might add) and am really looking forward to pursuing a nursing career in which I believe I will continuously advance. It is kind of funny actually. While I was in the Navy, I thought, "I never want to clean up peoples poo and all the things that actually come with being a CNA", obviously, because I was a hardcore military man, but I actually found that it is really rewarding. Although it is hard and sometimes frustrating, I am glad I decided to try out the CNA aspect to understand (and please excuse my militaryism) my lower ranking teammates careers. I think although being in nurse can be really stressful, and this may sound corny, but after being up close and personal with patients, I believe it may be one of the most intimate and natural jobs a human being can do. If you take away all the world as we know it, and travel back millions of years, you find that helping their fellow man or woman was one of the most important jobs in existence. Also nurses make decent money and are always in air conditioning. I don't like to sweat, unless I'm in the gym!

MaleCNA84, that was inspiring to read. After working 3 years in the ER(nigh shift) and having to transfer to the floor(day shift) to help finish my pre reqs, it is inspiring. Thanks for that and thanks to everyone for helping one another on this thread.

Hi everybody. I'm extremely late to the party and found this as I was looking for NAT information today. I just took my NAT and the lady at Kent campus student success center declined to tell me anything other than "go to north campus." It's my understanding that the point value everyone is talking about is the sum of (credit hours x grade) for the pre-reqs/general ed classes and the sum of your AA, RC, and INS NAT scores x .64. I have all A's except for a B in chemistry and a B in ENC1101 and scored 80/29/80 respectively for the NAT. So far as I can tell that's 237 points. Am I missing something?

Well Congrats! Either you have a perfect score on the NAT, or you computed the raw scores wrong. I imagine you have no worry about getting in!

Hello everyone. I feel like I have been waiting forever. I can't wait to find out if I am accepted or not. I am just preparing for the worst with my low score of 169.96, because it seems that everyone else has very high scores. Is the total number of students they accept for the summer term still 96?

They finally evaluated my transcripts I'll be mailing off my application tomorrow! Goodluck everyone!!
