FSCJ Summer 2014 Hopefuls

Published

Hello, everyone!

Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.

Hello everyone.

I have two questions. 1. what is the deadline for the Fall ADN for 2014 admission. Is it April 1st or June 1st? and 2nd, can I be enrolled in one last class for the summer to be consider for the Fall 2014? I am currently enrolled in AP-2, Intro Sociology, and Human Development for spring 2014, but I was thinking about dropping sociology and just taking it in the summer. but I don't want to mess up my chances getting in by doing that. Please let me know what I should do. and I have taken everything to complete my BSN, I just have these last three classes to get out the way. and I haven't taking the Nat. but I am going to soon, I have taking the TEAS and that thing kicked my butt. so Im pretty sure I can manage the NAT.

If they have not changed them yet, which i do not think they have, applying for fall term is April 1 to June 1. The only class that you can can be enrolled in and not completed is Microbiology (and the points obviously do not count if you have not finished). All other classes have to be completed. Whenever I have had questions, or needed the app for the program, i have emilaed -----------------.

I had a great sociology teacher, and it was only an 8 week course. Workload was surprisingly not that bad at all and was fairly interesting.

Hi all, I took my NAT this morning, I got a 115.2!! I am so excited, I will be applying with 235 points for the N/W program. The NAT was so stressful, even though I normally have low test anxiety.

Beatrice- thank you for the information

I can't wait to meet my N/W classmates!:)

That is amazing Amanda! congrats, you should have absolutely no problem getting into Nights and Weekends! the NAT kicked my butt. i only got 91.52, so that has brought my stress levels up since I can only attend N/W! good luck!

Hello everyone :) I am also a 2014 Summer hopeful. My total nursing points sum up to 229 points.... Is that good enough to get in for sure?

Absolutely. I thought I had a good score at 205.2 but now you guys are making me nervous! Congrats! The cut offs are usually somewhere in the 180's on average.

My bad lol. I am really excited and nervous about FSCJ nursing school. Look forward to seeing everyone :)

Although I am a bit worried about finding a job after nursing school.... anyone out there plan on taking a RN-BSN bridge program at UNF or somewhere else to beef up your resume?? Seems like nowadays hospitals want BSNs.... Oh well, I guess I am going to just make sure I take things one at time and make good use of clinicals, volunteering, and networking while in nursing school. Good luck everyone :)

To be considered did you have to take classes at FSCJ? Because it says you have to be accepted and be currently enrolled or be a former student

Thanks Lori and Kate! :D

Lori- I am pretty sure that should get you a seat on N/W, My points are really high, I don't think that will be the average or anything.

Manny92- I am planning to do the RN-BSN bridge at UNF, I am hoping to have a nursing job in acute care and then you can do it all online. If you are planning to get your BSN before you work, have you looked into UNF's pre licensure BSN program? It is only 5 semesters long assuming you have your A.A. I would probably do that if I didn't need nights/weekends.

Ecopeta- I am pretty sure it just means you have to be registered at FSCJ, when you apply they will accept you as a student, meaning you can register for classes. Also, you have to make sure you have your transcript sent to the registrars office for them to approve, because you can only turn in an FSCJ transcript to the nursing office.
