Hello, everyone!
Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.
So I just found this site, I'm so late to the party. I sent in my application for summer about 2 weeks ago. I think I had 190 points if i calculated correctly. My NAT PSB, whatever people are calling it, scores were all between 95 or 99 (but there was also a +2 or +1 on there, i don't what that means). The guy said people never finish it. I finished every question. I still have to finish micro, taking that this semester. Pretty cool so for, i have a good study group. Best of luck to all! -Pyrat
Welcome! What classes are you short? Just asking as the only classes that can be incomplete but enrolled in is Microbiology. Don't want you to waste your time if you are missing any more of the required classes! Sounds like you are on track for a good score though :-)
Actually I think you misread the information, the only classes that HAVE to be completed before applying are anatomy 1 & 2, college algebra or higher, and enrollment in micro. The others can be completed while you're in the program, but it's obviously better to do them before applying for the points and because we are going to be super busy in nursing school! :)
Looks like everyone is applying with 200 + points so I retook the PSB today and I'm exactly at 200 points. Yay! Just hoping my transcript gets evaluated in time, still waiting :-/
Wow, that's scary! I would definitely contact someone at the registrars office and explain the urgency; everyone I have dealt with at FSCJ has been super helpful so maybe someone can get it done for you.

Oh well that's what was told to me by an advisor a while back. Good to know. I wouldn't have wanted to add anything to the nursing program though. Too much stress. Lol. I'm finishing my AA this semester and getting Nutrition out of the way too so I don't have to worry about it to be ready for the BA :-) thanks for the info!

That's exactly what I did as far as taking nutrition, and I am finishing my A.A. this semester as well. I have found a lot of the information that I have received from the advisers to be untrue, the last lady told me that the highest score she saw for the nursing program was 200 points....? NOT. I go to Deerwood center, I hope the advisers and North campus are more knowledgeable on the subject.
I am new to this forum, however, I am excited to see others as excited as I am about entering the RN program at F.S.C.J. for summer term. It has been a road full of expectation, as well as obstacles, and now the comes the line in the sand; the crossing to the goal. I will turn in my application tomorrow, with a total of 202.16 points. I was disappointed with my score at first, but, now am more hopeful after reading this forum. Good luck to all of you hopefuls, and I will see some of you this summer in class.
If there are any in this forum considering nights and weekends, let me know! I am so excited.......
Just a reminder of what I researched on this site a while ago. The cutoffs for the last three terms were 187, 187, and 176. So all of you people with great scores of 200 and above have nothing to worry about. It is only a worry if you are trying to get into the nights and weekends, which I believe to be more competitive. I went as far back as like 2 years ago and the highest cutoff score I could find was 199. I think the summer semester might have lower cutoffs anyway since not as many people try to get in due to the fact that they want to wait for the traditional school year and enjoy summer break. I would say that from what Iv'e read on our chat, about 90% of us have nothing to worry about. Iv'e also noticed that a lot of us still have micro to complete, so if it comes down to it, we will get in next semester. If that happens, we can knock out more BA classes in preparation for our BSN. Cheers!
PS I'm not British. I have always wanted to put that in a comment cause when I see it in posts I think it looks pretty cool. Like a Sir!

Hi MaleCNA84,
Thank you for posting this information for us. I am almost depending on the lower scores for this semester. I am not sure what my score will be but anyway I can get in, I'll take, even if it is after everyone has received there letters and I get a call. I am A-Okay with that . I am not trying to sound desperate, but when you want something so bad, as long as you have it, you will be okay with the way it was given. I take it on Monday, and I have my CPR class scheduled for Monday night, if I score high enough to be considered or not. I will be turning in my application Tuesday morning. I am super nervous, only because this one test will change my life so much, if I get in. I have so many what if's and I know I have to stop this. I feel a lot more prepared this time, but then I am like "what if" I am not prepared enough, "what if this, what if that". I have wanted this for quite a while, I have prepared, put time into it, took all of my classes and I am just ready. Wish me luck, ill be writing to you on Monday.:)
Just took the NAT for the first time. I struggled on the INS-natural sciences part. I will put in my app for summer and pray but I plan on taking it again in April. Any suggestions for preparing for the natural sciences part of the NAT? Thanks and good luck to everyone! ps, can our application packets be hand delivered to the nursing office on north campus?

Yes, you can hand deliver your application, here's the # 766-6581; I turned mine in today at the north campus. Now, I am anticipating acceptance into into the night and weekend classes.
I was told that it could be eight weeks after February 1st before I hear a yes or no on being accepted or not.
As far as the NAT section on natural sciences goes; I found taking chemistry, A&P 1&2 as well as micro biology to help in the science area. I will say though, make sure to answer every question even if you do not know the answer, it is better to answer something than to answer nothing. If time is running out on you, just do the best you can, however, answer every question. I wish every one the best!!
