FSCJ Summer 2011 Hopefuls

Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?

Im a little worried about the NAT too. It's like, I could study the whole immune system, and there could only be one question about it on the test. Where the hell are you even suppose to begin studying?? If I could just get a couple points higher I'd be set, but I hate studying, and its the holidays so I really don't feel like it.

I agree. I have to retake the Nat in January and I do not know where to begin studying. I think I kind of remember where I went wrong the last time I took it. I just need to be more anal in the verbal, nonverbal and science sections. The reading comp section requires fast reading and time left to answer the questions. Your science grade will depend on what courses you've already taken. You may want to estimate approx. 5 questions per course from Biology, Physics, Chem, A&P I, II, and Micro. I hadn't taken Physics, A&P II, or Micro last time I took the NAT, so I struggled on those questions. I still haven't taken Physics and will only have 3 weeks of Micro when I take it again, but I hope I do well. Worse case I'll flop on the NAT and have to apply in Fall 2011 after Micro in order to have enough points to get accepted.

I haven't taken bio or physics and have no plans to take either of them since they aren't required, so I guess I'll just have to try my best on those parts. I didnt study the first time and only had one science class completed, but this time I have been done with all my science classes since August, so Ive forgotten everything. I can't find a practice test to save my life.

There are several RN program entrance exam study books at the library. The good thing is that they have review sections for Biology and Physics. The other sciences, you'll have to take the courses to gain the knowledge.

Hi y'all!!

I'm applying for summer 2011 too! I'm sitting at 205. Hopefully I will get in.

I'm retaking my NAT in January, hoping to add points.

Yeah when I retook it I remember there was a lot of anatomy, some micro and chemistry and I do remember some physics questions that I had no clue on. Also the reading is what killed me because of the time constraints. Thats what ill need to work on next time

The academic aptitude was what killed me. I had about 45 questions left and like 8 mins so i just went to town filling in answers.

Does anyone know when grades from this semester are gonna be in??? Im ready to calculate my points!

It depends on the teacher, I believe they have until 2morrow to post the grades for this semester.

I thought the absolute last day for instructors to post grades was the 22nd. I hope not because my A&P instructor is slow about grading. Anyway, how well did you all do on your 2nd attempt at the NAT? Depending on my scores next time, I may have to apply again in the Fall. If so, I'll have Micro and I know I'll get in. If I don't get in i'm going to finish my AA in the summer. Also, an advisor told me to get registered for the CPR course before the new year.
