Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?
I think thats the length of the one I took. All the homework and quizzes were online and I think we had four tests throughout that were all on campus. I had R.W., he wasn't the best, was pretty slow about responding to emails and stuff like that but just very straight forward, we had 3 chances for each quiz, but he also let me make 2 different tests up for being out of town. My husband took a different teacher the same semester and she wouldn't let him make the test up, he had to take his early.
Hope that helps!
Hi all,
I'm taking an 8 wk A&P1 and I think it was one of the best decisions I've made. I am getting 4 prereqs done in one semester and only taking 2 classes at a time. Also, the A&P tests are online, in class quiz once a week(we get to drop our 2 lowest scores), and extra credit quizzes online each week all count towards final grade. The best part is the class is M-R, 2 1/2 hrs per day, and I am actually learning the material.
Hi All! I'm also applying for summer 2011 at FSCJ. I have already taken the Nat and I'm done with all of my pre-reqs. I got my AA degree at FSCJ and transferred over to UNF to retake a few of my pre-reqs. I do have some suggestions on the 8 week anatomy I posts. I took anatomy I at FSCJ in the fall of 08 and got a C so I transferred to UNF in the summer of 2010 and took it again in an 8 week class. I made an A in it my second go around but anatomy is one of those classes you don't want to breeze by in because you don't want to forget anything. Not only will you use it the rest of your life as a nurse but the Nat will also pull a ton of questions from it. Make sure you retain your information. I took the Nat once in 2009 and got a really poor score (mainly because I didn't know what it would take to get into the program). Needless to say, I took it again in July of 2010. The second time I took I got an 80 and I currently have 106 pre-req points. I will be retaking it. Here's something else that's interesting about the Nat, the questions do not change.
No, they don't give you a print out of all of your wrong answers but it is very helpful because the second time you take you'll know what to expect. I will say this, the math portion is pretty lengthy. It's not hard math or anything but you will have very little time to work the problems out. The reason I got an 80 is because I left 35 questions out of the 90 unanswered on the math section due to time. Reading is a breeze, I only missed one question on the reading portion and like I said the science portion is a lot of microbio and anatomy I mixed with a few chem and physics problems. I'll be retaking it in November. Good luck to you as well!

You are totally night the math section SUCKED! U have like 30 mins or something to answer 90 questions. I remember I was on like question 47 and had about 8 mins left. I just started "christmas treeing" it. Thats what killed me. I only got a 95.6 on the NAT the first time:eek:
I have some friends who are in the nursing program now at fscj and they said to just Christmas tree the rest of the math part because there's no way anyone could finish that section in such little time. A 95.6 isn't bad at all though. I'm shooting for a 97 and up when I take it in November. I'm trying to apply with around 205 points. I can't believe the total points for acceptance has gone up so much.

I took online Algebra last fall, and made an A. I am not terribly great or bad in math, but as long as you keep up with your assignments its fairly easy, lots of memorization.
Good luck :)
