Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here. I am in the middle of tackling the pre-reqs for FSCJ nursing program. I am really hoping to get into the SPring 2012 program (fingers crossed!!) But I'm a little confused about something.
I will be taking my last two classes in the fall, Micro and AP2. My advisor told me that I can apply for the program while I am taking these classes....my question is, if I apply to the program before the Oct. 1 deadline how will they be able to calculate my points for Micro and AP2 if I have not yet fully completed those classes? Will I have to wait until the next fall program? I am really hoping that is not the case, but I'm thinking my advisor may have given me th wrong information.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
HI I am new to this site, not quite sure how to work it.. ha, I am also FREAKING out about getting into the Spring 2012 n/w program. I saw there were 2 people on here with a 225, and a 235 as their score. I am really worried now that I won't get in with only 214. I think I would get into days but I have to do the nights because I work full time during the day. I also saw another post about the cutoff last year being low 220s for n/w. I hope this is not true! I applied w/o micro since I am still taking it but I could apply again for summer but really don't want to wait even longer!!!!! does anyone else have additional info on this? thanks
hey, i work for the college and i can't get any info on when the letters will go out they guard that information with their lives! i am very hopeful to get in for n/w. my nat score was 112.64 and with my grades, i have somewhere around 220; i'm still in micro (getting a "b") so i'm hoping i don't need those points to get in. good luck to you all!
For the math section, brush up on solving 8th grade word problems. Fractions, decimals, and ratios. Know how to solve problems by cross-multiplying and dividing. It will save you time on the test.
Seriously? My NAT was nothing like what you describe. The first part was every other question nonverbal shapes (you know, this is to that... as that is to this). Word problems only for the other part...I had absolutely no straightforward math on mine...I wish I had!! :)

i just inquired with one of the program organizers and was told "letters will go out eight weeks from october 1, 2011." that means they won't be mailed until december 1. i am hoping that i was just told that because of the whole "we won't tell you anything else than what is in the packet" code that seems to be the norm...lol..but, if the person is being straight-up with me, then guess we won't know anything until december
I wasn't considering the spacial questions on the non-verbal section to be math questions. None of the math questions I had on mine were straightforward either. It was all word problems. Nothing too complicated, just time consuming and difficult to do on that stupid electronic tablet they give you as scratch paper...lol
The spacial questions were horrible. My brain was fried by the time I finished them all. Some were impossible to figure out, so I went with my best guess.
Oh, I gotcha ya :) I was going to say, Jeez, I wish it was just straight up math...lol! Oh, those spatial questions...forgettaboutit! Are you kidding, my brain was fried from question 1 :) I should have skipped that first section and did it last...I was too revved up freaked out about the test to concentrate until I got through the first part.
Has anyone gone ahead and taken BLS for healthcare providers? I would like to get that taken care of in case I am accepted. My step-daughter took it at a school in Orange Park and I am waiting to hear back from her as to the name of the school, but if anyone has a recommendation on a good place to take it I would really appreciate the info. Thanks

I haven't taken mine yet either...I live by St. Lukes, so that is where I will be taking mine. :) It's from 9-noon, and you can pick a day (except not on Saturday). Also, it's only 20.00 I believe (might be 40.00, I forget what fees are for what).
Hi all, I am new to this site. I just wanted to state that I am finishing up Micro right now (will be done mid Dec) and then I plan on turning my application in by the Feb 1st deadline. EEK I am so nervous. I really need to take the NAT again since I don't think I did very well the first time, that was ROUGH and I am not a good test taker anyways!
With all my scores, it's not very high under 200 I believe :uhoh21: so Y'all should stop freaking out! haha I am most likely not goign to be getting accepted my first try, but that won't stop me. I plan to either do CNA or Surgical Tech program if I don't get accepted and just keep trying.
I'm curious, did any of you try to apply to any other schools? I was told to apply to many. Wondering what may be another good school to apply to?
good luck to all of you with acceptance letters!! =)

I looked back at last year's spring hopefuls and it seems like the letters went out Thanksgiving week. YIKES! I wish they would get here a LITTLE sooner :)
