Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here. I am in the middle of tackling the pre-reqs for FSCJ nursing program. I am really hoping to get into the SPring 2012 program (fingers crossed!!) But I'm a little confused about something.
I will be taking my last two classes in the fall, Micro and AP2. My advisor told me that I can apply for the program while I am taking these classes....my question is, if I apply to the program before the Oct. 1 deadline how will they be able to calculate my points for Micro and AP2 if I have not yet fully completed those classes? Will I have to wait until the next fall program? I am really hoping that is not the case, but I'm thinking my advisor may have given me th wrong information.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
I am worried about my score this time around.... I caught a mistake in the school's calcualtion of my points and had it corrected so I am in the high 190's but not close enough so I am retaking my English 101 class which was my only C grade from years ago. They will not take a higher English 102 or higher class like they do for the math. My only advice to anyone out there is to never give up and retake any easy classes you can while you wait. Never give up on your dreams. Best of luck to everyone while you are waiting !!!
Hello I'm new to this site but will be taking my NAT in 2 weeks.Any advice? I'm terrible at math:crying2: And was wondering what I should look out for...Looking to apply by feb 1 for summer of 2012. Currently taking A&P1 over to hopefully get an A. Scheduled to take micro in spring...Please give me some advice
You are not allowed to retake classes at a community college that you have a grade higher than an F in. This is a state of Florida community college rule. Atleast this is my understanding. I had a B in Comp 101 and they would not let me retake it. The class was from 12 years ago, and still I could not retake it at FCCJ.
The NAT isn't hard, it's just frustrating because of the time constraints. I got a 115.84 on my first try, 9 months pregnant, and I hadn't taken A&P since 1998. I worried for weeks about the test only to find out that it wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated.
For the math section, brush up on solving 8th grade word problems. Fractions, decimals, and ratios. Know how to solve problems by cross-multiplying and dividing. It will save you time on the test.
The reading section was my nemesis. Read the questions first and skim the passages for the answers. It's almost impossible to read everything and finish in time.
Answer your easier problems first and go back to the hard ones later. Don't leave anything blank!
Honestly, I would save my NAT attempts until after I took Microbiology and both A&P classes. The science section isn't hard at all, but if you haven't taken all of the classes, you will probably stumble on a lot of the questions.
