FSCJ Fall 2010 ACCEPTED

Published

Okay here we are!!!!!!

Question, did anyone else that ordered from Meridy's get two separate confirmation emails w/ two different order #s?

LOL. My total at Meridys was exactly the same. What all did you get at allheart.com? I have an appointment on Monday for my physical. Oh, I tried to get to the fingerpriting site with the address that was in the packed but couldn't. It gave me another address that said FCCJ instead of FSCJ. Is that the one you used? I was going to call this morning.

I used the FCCJ one that came up. I sure hope that was the right thing to do? I ordered from allheart the stethoscope they suggest Littmans Cardiology III with name engraved, my shoes, pocket protector, I D holder, and I can't remember what else right now, but everything was cheaper than Meridy's.

August 1st works for me to meet everyone too. Just FYI regarding stethescopes--Stat-Line says that they have one that is very similar to the highly priced Littman Cardiology III but it's only $80 instead of $169. They were out today, but said they would have more in the next couple of weeks along with a BP cuff that they sell for $17 I believe they said.

Is there anyone out there who hasn't taken care of their CPR Certification that would like to sign up for a class together? I was thinking about going with the AHA class that they offer for FSCJ students every Saturday morning (It's the one in the packet that offers a Certified First Aid class and all the materials for the class in the fee), but I'm flexible!

I would like to sign up with you!

Thanks for the info, I am definitely heading up to a worksource and finding out what I can. I did call them and she was very confused on how I could apply and get anything.....good thing I was able to fill out the fafsa without so much confusion. UGH, seriously thinking I may have to decline my seat because of all this.

Don't give up!! Use all of your resources. Contact FNSA about maybe getting a scholarship, and keep trying worksource. What county are you in? You need to call the person that is head of your county, not the one at north campus. Call CJ and tell her your situation. They might be able to work something out.

i said i was going to stay away... but i can't! i have 2 more tests left in micro- one in lab and one in lecture. but i'm too excited to focus!

i called work source. no one answered but hopefully someone will call back and i'll qualify for something. hopefully we'll all qualify!!

can't meet august 1st, it's me and my boyfriends 2 and a half year. we're lame and celebrate half years lol. i also have work that day.

wow you guys are really on top of everything, ordering your uniforms and whatnot already. i wish i was done with classes already so i can get to all the fun stuff!

still in shock, still can't believe it's really happening :nurse:

What is FNSA? And I am in Duval county, I did find a family member who offered to help me out with everything....which I am SO thankful for.

I called this morning and she said I may not even qualify because I have not went to court at all for my divorce.....it's almost like I am getting hit at every turn with more bad news.

We had an "unemployed" (homemaker) whose husband was a pilot who qualified. GO! Next time you might speak to the correct person.

ALSO, go in person to FA office and tell them about your situation. When I applied for NS, I may have been a single mom of 5, but I made $72K/yr. I was LAID OFF during the wait for NS acceptance letters. The school gave me the BCBS scholarship ($1K) until worksource kicked in.

Florida Nursing Students of America. Sorry, I should have specified. Keep trying and trying to get Worksource; I know a ton of people who got it, and a lot of them could afford school. And try not to get your AA before last term. They have a scholarship for fourth term nursing students, but you cannot previously have a degree.

Hello, I just thought I'd drop some info on the worksource program. I went earlier this month to the orientation. Got all my paperwork in and they pay up to $7000 dollars for the R.N. Program. All the paperwork they ask for is already in your posession. The only requirement is that you have been either laid off, denied unemployment benefits, pending unemployment benefits, applied for unemployment benefits. They do not ask about income from a spouse. This is scholarship money based on re-employment strategies, not based on household income. The representative told me that they will be doing sign-up on the 19th for FSCJ. I am advising that you go to your nearest worksource center and sign up NOW! He said that I am now ahead of the game. They provide vouchers, monthly stipends for gas depending on how far you live from the North Campus (I don't qualify for that) and will pay for your uniforms, tuition, books and possibly nurses kits and stethescopes. Even if you don't think you qualify, the most you can do is try and the worst that can happen is they say you don't qualify. So just go down there NOW and get your paperwork started.

I had an appeal for the 150% and after turning in my appeal paperwork, they called me back to go in and see an adviser. When I saw the adviser, all she asked for was my acceptance letter and approved the appeal right there on the spot. Just get the paperwork in and get the ball rolling...:)

BTW...........Congratulations! We are no longer hopefuls, we are R.N. :nurse: Students!!:yeah::yeah::yeah::clpty::clpty::dncgbby::dancgrp::anpom::ancong!::stdnrsrck:
