Okay here we are!!!!!!
Got my titers back, and my mumps was .90, needed to be > .91. Yeah for me, I got to get ANOTHER shot!!!:smackingf And the best part --- as of last year, the mumps is no longer being produced and packaged separately from MMR. So, at the drs. office, I have one doc saying I should not get the mmr, they need to order the mumps. Two hours later they bring me into the back to give me the mmr shot. The office staff thank me for coming in, now they know the mumps is only available in mmr.
I asked a fairly simple question: Since I already have the antibodies for measles and rubella, why didn't they give me the mmr to start with?
answer: Doc said no, it's a live virus.
second question: So? I already have antibodies, what's the big deal?
second answer: Doc said no.
OK.
I think they just like me and wanted to keep me in the waiting room for a while.
The nurses and office manager understood where I was coming from, but could not over ride doc until they found out there was no other way to get mumps vaccine.:)
I really do like the office and staff. I know they were calling around to get the shot in, that's how I got the shot today instead of having them tell me "just call us next week and see if we were able to get the vaccine in" and then finding out I would still have to get the mmr.
Bottom line, I got the booster, thanks to the staff going the extra mile knowing I am trying to get everything done as quickly as possible, and then turned in all of my paperwork to North Campus today.
Yeah!!!:w00t:

My car is broken!!! My husband is out of town, so I can't even take his truck to come to Panera on Sunday. I'm so bummed. It's going to be expensive to fix, too. I can just tell. Uuugggh, another expense

Maaaaannnn, I was so stoked to be meeting everyone and finding out new and interesting info about the program. Somebody please take good notes and post them.
I'm going to PM Butterflymom, JenPerez, and hjhd to let them know that there will still be plenty of you meeting them. And remember, Butterflymom will be wearing a pink FSCJ nursing T, JenPerez is a probably, hjhd is a maybe, and SaraFL is a maybe.

Far, far, far, far, far....I barely live in the greater Jacksonville area. I'm in the southwestern-most part of Clay, a few miles from Blanding and 215.
It's a minimum 1-hour drive to North campus with absolutely no traffic, but I will not be complaining about that because I'm so grateful I got accepted.
Thanks for the condolences, lol.

Natalie, I can come get you, it's not a problem at all. It will be a nice drive for me. I would hate for you to miss the meeting, especially since you were instrumental in getting people from the previous term to come. Just send me an email with your address and I'll be happy to pick you up on Sunday

I'm 28, and I was born and raised in Thailand, so maybe that way I didn't get vaccinated!
