Okay here we are!!!!!!
It's so hard to focus on my summer classes now, I just took them as filler classes so my repayment on my student loans didn't kick inBut, I still want to keep my GPA up so I've got to focus and finish them, but it's so hard, all I really want to do is review Anatomy and medical terminology, etc.
I have already finished two of my classes and will finish the last two this week. Then I get to start reviewing my A&Ps and Med Term. I want to make sure I am ready for the first day tests. I made a B in algebra (and I was happy to get that B) so I will start going over the calc ppt as well.:)
For those of you eager nursing students (I know I am!!!) who want to take a look at some of the information I obtained from the Summer 2010 orientation, I have attached the documents the nursing department gave to the students. Now here comes the disclaimer: This is just for practice, as I don't know if they have changed any of the material since the summer semester. Also, I had to copy and paste some of the material into an unformatted Powerpoint so I could zip it within the allowable parameters for this post.
Happy Studying
Thank you so much for giving us these notes. I just now had a chance to look at them and print them. I have some work cut out for me, I haven't taken Algebra in over a year, so I will start studying these notes this week. Thanks again:bow:
i'm a little confused about this math and tests everyone is talking about. are we taking a test at orientation?
Not at orientation, it is on the first day of school, along with a medical terminology test. They are incredibly easy. The powerpoints and practice for the dosage calc makes it VERY easy- and the med term test is very basic- if you took A&P in the last decade, you'll be fine! :)
I left my message about 30 minutes after I pulled my packet out of the mail. Had to calm down enough first to speak intelligibly, lol. Mine still has an N under admit status. I don't think that will be updated for a while. Our acceptance is "conditional" upon turning in all our documents first, plus they're going to do a degree audit. I was going to call Monday just to be super safe that they did receive my message. This would be the most inopportune time for some kind of electronic mishap, and I try not to assume or take anything for granted. :)

what do you mean by "do a degree audit" ?

I'm not 100% sure, but the other terms were talking about it. From what they said, each section had different appointment times with the department. I guess they just want to double check that everything is in order and that people who were finishing prereqs when they applied officially passed with the necessary grades, whatever.....not really sure, but I know that it was mentioned.
Well I've been lurking for a few days, and finally found the time to post. A big thanks to everyone who posted all the useful information, it's really helped me get my stuff in order so far. It's pretty fun trying to set up doctor's appointments and track down vaccine history and order supplies while working full time (not to mention going out of town for the rest of the week, sheesh, what a bad time to take a vacation!).
As for orientation, I'm assuming they'll contact us with a time at some point. Or at least I hope so. I've taken the whole day off just in case.
Anyway, congratulations to us all, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you (don't know about Panera, I think I'll probably be working unfortunately--but I'll definitely see you at orientation)! I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I'm incredibly excited!
Does anyone know what time orientation is on 8/16? It doesn't give the time, just the room # in the packet.
I stopped in to ask this question on Thursday when I was up at North campus. I was told they would be sending an email out to all of us who accept prior to the orientation date. It would also include an itinerary for the orientation. Kinda makes sense now because I'm guessing they don't tell us until they get all the accepts to fill our class. Hopes this helps!:)
